Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) Sr. Principal Systems Engineer in support of the Sentinel weapon system program.  This highly visible individual contributor role will be in Roy UT and will support the Air Force’s development, production and deployment of the Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) ground and airborne launch control systems, launch facilities, launch control centers, and associated infrastructure. This position may offer a competitive relocation package.

In this role, you will lead and provide guidance to a small team of systems engineers and participate in conducting weapon system design integration and architecture development in support of the Sentinel weapon system.   The primary nature of this role is in support of the Sentinel Milestone B recertification campaign for the TMRR milestone.   Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Development of System Level architecture, decomposition and allocation from a Weapon System Specification down to the lowest level CI definition.
  • Perform trade studies in support of SFR, SRR, CDR and PDR campaign events.
  • Develop product support for various level of milestone campaign activities.
  • Work with the Sentinel customer base in support of developing product for Sentinel MPEs


Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years         
  • Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs        
  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) from an accredited university with 5 years of experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master's degree or 1 year with a PhD.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Systems Engineering and Integration and Test processes on the Sentinel Program
  • 2+ years of experience working with MBSE (Cameo).  
  • 1+ year of experience with Agile, JIRA, Confluence, DOORS or Cameo.
  • 1+ years of experience supporting trades studies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
  • Position may require an active Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • 5+ years of experience working with DOORS
  • 5+ years of experience working with MBSE (CAMEO)

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $98,600.00 - $127,800.00Salary Range 2: $0.00 - $0.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
