Logan Health is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to support our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU). In this role, you'll serve as a central point of coordination for patients, providers, nurses, and ancillary departments, helping ensure critical care operations run smoothly throughout each shift.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, enjoys multitasking, and takes pride in being a dependable resource for both patients and care teams.

What You'll Do

As a Critical Care HUC, you'll provide administrative and operational support to the unit while helping maintain efficient patient care workflows. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating patient admissions, transfers, and discharges

  • Creating, maintaining, and preparing patient records and documentation

  • Entering provider orders into the electronic medical record

  • Monitoring patient telemetry screens and communicating changes or alarms to the appropriate care team members

  • Supporting nurses, providers, and interdisciplinary teams with daily patient care operations

  • Maintaining unit supplies, equipment, and organization

  • Assisting with compliance, documentation, and regulatory requirements

  • Prioritizing tasks and adapting to changing patient care needs throughout the shift


What We're Looking For

Successful candidates are organized, detail-oriented, and able to remain calm and focused in a dynamic critical care environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-high school education or vocational training in healthcare

  • Previous healthcare experience

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)

Required Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and professionalism

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a healthcare team

Additional Requirements

  • Healthcare Provider BLS certification preferred; required within three (3) months of hire

  • Telemetry Certification through Logan Health required within three (3) months of hire

  • Montana Notary Public Commission required within three (3) months of hire

Shift:

Night Shift - 12 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule: 3 12-hour Night shifts, 1900-0700

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
