As a Process Engineer you will be primarily responsible for starting up, developing and optimizing processes to improve product quality and reliability, working on process yield improvement, cost reduction, productivity improvement and risk management as well as resolving manufacturing line problems.

 

Responsibilities and Tasks:

New Product Introduction

  • Enable new process/material/equipment capabilities.
  • Evaluate new risks identified with new product/process.
  • Provide engineering solutions and train workforce if necessary.
  • Monitor new product quality metrics and bring it to maturity and sustain level.
  • Feedback to NPI or design group on problems, potential problems / opportunities and DFM guideline.
  • Maintain in-depth end to end process knowledge for HVM or sustaining product and process.
  • Leading on process characterization and product/process recipe optimization and management.
  • Develop, introduce, implement, and ensure efficiency process control along FMEA and QCP for end to end process control.
  • Maintain good documentation of process specifications and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide efficiency on EPT (Effective Processing Time) by improve capacity and increase product output

 

 

Improve Assigned Process/Product Yield/Quality

  • Improve and review process control with new risk or risk assessment are identified.
  • Perform detailed electrical/physical failure analysis, perform process mapping and work with other departments to resolve Module/SSD related issues.
  • Implement changes due to customer requirement, sites horizontal deployment or proliferation, process improvement and train workforce when necessary along company change control system.
  • Problem solving of process issues which includes finding root cause, containment of materials, implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Shift left mentality to improve severity, occurrence and detection along fool proof or poka-yoke system or process control in place.
  • Able to provide system solution for any process or product issues.

 

Process/Material Development

  • Perform research, market survey on new process, equipment, machine, tool or material.
  • Conduct evaluation or experiment (DOE) on new process or material and benchmarking on new equipment.
  • Apply decision-making methodologies for selection of new process/equipment/material.
  • Handle change of implementation of new process/equipment/material which include process specification, training material and SOP.
  • Test out new solutions with extensive data collection and analytics.
  • Set up systems for data extraction, traceability and data analysis.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in Module/SSD manufacturing or PCBA-related fields is preferable.
  • Strong technical expertise and proven problem-solving skills (7QC tools) and technical documentation capabilities.
  • Proficiency in using Excel/JMP for data analysis is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Highly motivated and driven to achieve targets within tight schedules and limited resources.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate across various functional teams.
  • Positive interpersonal skills and a growth mindset.
  • Knowledge of DFX/DFM/DFA is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with FMEA, QCP, SPC, and DOE is advantageous.
