Summary: As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as software detectives, providing a dynamic service that identifies and resolves issues within various components of critical business systems. Your typical day will involve collaborating with team members to troubleshoot problems, analyzing system performance, and ensuring the smooth operation of applications that are vital to business functions. You will engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide timely solutions, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of the systems in place. Roles & Responsibilities: • Install/Configure/Setup/Administer and Maintain production and non-production environments. • Setup High-Availability and Disaster Recovery • Plan and test high availability and disaster recovery • Create Users and assign/manage permissions based on the level of access the user would need. • Resolve database integrity, performance, blocking, connectivity, and replication issues. • Detect and resolve database-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other contention issues. • Perform and manage Database backup/recovery/restore and capacity monitoring. • Setup SQL agent jobs, elastic jobs, and runbook automation. • Identify and set up alerts and logging in Azure. • Maintain databases – Statistics, Indexes, fragmentation. • Upgrade and maintain SQL Server and related software (apply patches and updates when necessary) • Coordinate removal and/or archiving of data that is no longer required to be available in the production databases. • Support production deployment activities. • Provide 24x7 support, as necessary. • Conduct Performance tuning and optimization. Professional & Technical Skills: - Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server Administration. - Strong understanding of database management and optimization techniques. - Experience with backup and recovery strategies for SQL Server databases. - Familiarity with performance tuning and monitoring tools. - Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries. Additional Information: - The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server Administration. - This position is based at our Bengaluru office. - A 15 years full time education is required.
