Job Summary

The VP, Market Development is responsible for leading the long-term strategy, development, sales growth, sales operations and service delivery for residential and commercial network expansion across ten states in the Southeastern part of the United States for Comcast’s Big South region. This role will serve as a member of Big South’s senior leadership team and will work in partnership with all functions across the region and in collaboration with Division leads. Focus includes both short and long-term growth expansion efforts, mixed use communities and complex growth strategies across both the Xfinity and Comcast Business brands. Strong business partner to residential Sales & Marketing, Comcast Business, Finance, and Construction teams.

Conducts environmental scans, organizational positioning analyses and other studies to proactively identify business opportunities. Identifies, investigates, evaluates and negotiates acquisitions/divestitures, licensing opportunities and strategic business alliances that are in line with the organization's long-range goals. Drives change transformation and strategy execution to achieve specific business results. Participate with other top leaders to establish division/group/company-wide processes. Creates business strategy to focus on strengths, competitive advantage, differentiation and brand affinity. Incorporates broad knowledge to address complex, unusual and critical issues. Develops long-term plans that impact the achievement of business results. Recognizes profitability and revenue potential in business opportunities. Demonstrates leadership versatility.

This position will require that the incumbent be physically based in Atlanta.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Defines vision, strategies and tactics.

  • Understands the organization's business operations, strategic direction and business environment to conduct operations analyses, and develop/execute the organization's strategic plan.

  • Coordinates input from all major business units to facilitate the integration of individual business unit plans with the overall corporate plan.

  • Conducts or facilitates periodic reviews of achievements and performance versus the plans.

  • Conducts financial feasibility studies and appropriate due diligence to ensure the reliability of information provided by third parties.

  • Evaluates and develops new market initiatives and analyzes business opportunities.

  • Develops proposals, including feasibility studies, for new business opportunities.

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned in an evolving environment.
