Summary:

Performs diverse duties under minimal supervision to support the Medical Staff, Department Leadership, and Hospital Administration, establishing procedures and systems to ensure compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, The Joint Commission standards, and other regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities:

Receives and screens department visitors and telephone calls, handles general inquiries, and routes inquiries to the appropriate individual when necessary.Manages emergency department call schedules, identity proofing, and identification badges for the Medical and Allied Health Staff.Provides administrative support to Medical Staff Leadership and management which includes but is not limited to meeting agendas, minutes, timelines, and follow-up; as needed.Manages the Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) for Initial Applicants, Additional/New Privileges, Returns from Leave, etc., in compliance with The Joint Commission standards.Manages the functions required to support physician leaders in the evaluation and decision-making process for privileging of the organized Medical Staff at the hospital level.

Education and Certification Requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

Required Work Experience: One (1) year of experience in a healthcare or managed care setting. Other Information: **Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) from National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) Preferred.
