Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters). 

The Manager, Risk & Compliance you will establish effective compliance programs to help drive a compliance culture, reinforce our Values in Action, and ensure the enterprise is “Winning The Right Way.”

What You Will Do:

  • Overseeing development of relevant programs to ensure compliance and reduce risk.
  • Developing and implementing strategies for all activities relating to one or more business units regarding business conduct and ethical relationship standards.
  • Providing advice and interpretation of code of ethics and compliance, including corporate policies and procedures to assigned business unit or units.
  • Identifying potential risks and compliance vulnerabilities; developing corresponding corrective action plans for resolution of these issues and providing guidance on avoiding or dealing with similar situations in the future.
  • Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.


What You Have (Basic Requirements):

  • Business Ethics:  Knowledge of practices, behaviors, applicable laws, rules, and regulations governing proper business conduct; ability to demonstrate ethical behavior in diverse situations.
    • Counsels’ senior management on the ethics implications of Sarbanes-Oxley.
    • Updates and maintains organizational code of ethics and associated policies.
    • Leads discussions on historical and future perspective of domestic and global business ethics.
    • Creates mechanisms that encourage attention to ethical issues in all business activities.
    • Explains the role of ethics in international business, citing examples of relevant laws.
    • Designs, implements, communicates, and manages ethical policies on a global level.
  • Issues Management and Remediation:  Knowledge of techniques and processes for issues management and remediation; ability to identify any error or fault and correcting them in a timely manner.
    • Develops a risk-based quality assurance, quality control, and control testing program to assess the effectiveness of the business unit’s controls.
    • Monitors a broad range of performance data to monitor each risk area
    • Predicts internal and external emerging risks, potential threats, and industry best practices.
    • Advises on key and emerging risks, business performance against limits, and key risk indicators.
    • Consults on exceptions, self-identified deficiencies, testing results, consumer complaints, operational losses, training completion, and the remediation of deficiencies.
    • Designs issue management and enterprise risk management standards.
  • Risk Management:  Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
    • Debates the pros and cons of various risk management models.
    • Implements function-wide risk management processes and tools.
    • Designs cross-functional risk management processes, tools, and audit mechanisms.
    • Measures key benefits and drawbacks for specific risk management practices.
    • Relates risk assessment models and analysis tools and processes to own business.
    • Establishes key business-specific risk management benchmarks.
  • Effective Communications:  Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Relationship Management:  Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Strategic Thinking:  Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
  • Leadership:  Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.
  • Audit and Compliance Function:  Knowledge of major responsibilities and tasks of Audit and Compliance (A&C) function; ability to manage the operation of A&C function in various business environment.
    • Defends organizational A&C strategies versus business and industry trends and experiences.
    • Leads and architects major A&C organizations.
    • Leads major A&C reengineering initiatives and programs.
    • Develops financial, staffing and competency requirements for A&C.
    • Initiates communications campaigns to promote awareness of key A&C issues.
    • Defines the mission, vision and objectives of the A&C function.

What Will Set You Apart (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience working within global Distribution/Logistics environments.
  • 6 Sigma Black Belt Certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
