In this role you will be responsible for working with relevant chemical management systems, applying best practice to meet the needs of the customer and the contract.  As part of our continuous improvement philosophy, you will effectively communicate progress and improvements to the rest of the Sales team.  You will deliver customer facing solutions that can increase revenue and reduce total cost of operation.  

Your time will be split between the ChampionX office, customer office and customer operational sites (on / offshore) as required.

What You Will Do:

The main duties / responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to; 

  • Accountable for active participation in company safety culture, completing actions as required.  Work to gain exposure, practice and leadership on Safety at Customer Sites, including participation in Contractor/Safety Councils 
  • Execute sales plans under supervision of line manager, developing further awareness of account profitability and overall health of account.  Assist sales management in developing profit improvement projects for client documenting value delivery 
  • Development and maintenance of an effective working relationship with Key Customers promoting the desired image of the Company and ensuring Customer satisfaction 
  • Proactive identification and resolution of issues reported by offshore chemists or customer, work to create and present solutions as appropriate, balancing ChampionX needs and managing customer expectations.  Prepare and deliver both technical and commercial presentations  
  • Leadership in the preparation and delivery of business review meetings for area of responsibility, both internally and externally 
  • Active collaboration and knowledge sharing with other personnel within ChampionX by exchanging information, potential new business opportunities, chemical applications and best practices, by regularly leveraging on available knowledge sharing platforms, such as CORE 
  • Exhibit leadership in the theory and application of the Proact model. This includes, not only training and coaching, but also exhibiting proficiency in its application to sales processes and clearly communicating and documenting value provided to customers 
  • Participate in trials, audits and field support activities as required, ensuring to adhere to internal and external safe work practices, policies and procedures, actively taking part in safety initiatives 
  • Proficient in most types of field work, including sampling and testing knowledge, willing and able to transfer that expertise to more Junior representatives through active training and coaching 
  • Work to resolve any conflicts in a productive and collaborative manner 
  • Assist ChampionX functional teams by providing, as necessary, information regarding customer trends, issues and requests related to products / applications / systems 
  • Actively participate in the annual PP+D & IDP processes and works with Line Manager to set goals for the upcoming year, assists junior team members to build meaningful development plans 
  • Manage direct reports (if applicable) to ensure all sales and service activities are meeting customer expectations and service levels.  Setting meaningful goals for direct reports, linking specific goals with corporate direction 
  • Assist coaching others and promote active participation in customer and corporate safety programs 
  • Assist shaping team moral (employee satisfaction within team) working with management to address any issues 
  • Begin to demonstrate leadership by pro-actively participating in District / Regional / Corporate initiatives  
  • Participate as required in the recruiting process with the Sales Management Team to assure appropriate levels of sales and service coverage within Customers/District 
  • Provide input and insights to sales leadership on performance of “functional / indirect” reports to inform talent assessments, career development and succession plans 

Leadership Competencies:

  • Exhibit/Model leadership, accountability and promote active participation in customer and corporate safety programs
  • Actively participate in the annual PP+D & IDP processes working with Manager to set goals for the upcoming year
  • Proactively lead, coach and mentor less experienced sales representatives and managers on diverse topics (pre-call plan, call objectives, ProAct, SWOT analysis, Best Practice Gap Analysis and all aspects of Production Chemistry)
  • Begin to demonstrate leadership by pro-actively participating in District / Regional / Corporate initiatives

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role 
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to build and maintain successful relationships across multiple levels of an organisation 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Excellent work ethic; promoting a positive attitude at all times 

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Further Education Qualification in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other Science Subject 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in offshore environment.
