DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Hybrid Engineer, located in São Paulo, Brazil
Job Overview
This role provides hands‑on technical field support for DePuy Synthes’ commercial operations, combining on‑site field service with remote/hybrid technical support. The Hybrid Engineer partners closely with customers, sales, and internal teams to install, commission, troubleshoot, and optimize medical equipment and solutions. This position plays a critical role in customer satisfaction, patient safety, and business growth by ensuring reliable performance and compliance of field‑deployed systems.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical advice and hands‑on support to customers, including installation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of products and equipment in the field.
Support commercial activities by partnering with sales teams to address technical questions, demonstrations, and customer requirements.
Execute assigned tasks for Field Service Engineering projects and initiatives that support business growth and customer needs.
Apply project management protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements during all field service activities.
Troubleshoot technical issues, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and escalate complex problems to ensure timely resolution.
Prepare field service reports, service documentation, and technical instructions following customer visits or remote support sessions.
Support the evaluation of product upgrades or improvements to meet evolving customer and market needs.
Apply Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives in all customer and team interactions.
Qualifications
Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
Preferred: Advanced technical training or coursework related to medical devices or field service engineering.
Experience and Skills
Required:
0-2 years of relevant work experience in field service engineering, technical support, or a related engineering role.
Hands‑on experience with installation, testing, and troubleshooting of technical equipment.
Ability to work independently in the field with limited supervision while meeting performance targets.
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills to address technical issues effectively.
Clear written and verbal communication skills for customer interaction and technical documentation.
Preferred:
Experience supporting commercial or customer‑facing engineering activities.
Familiarity with medical devices, healthcare environments, or regulated industries.
Experience collaborating with sales or customer service teams in a technical capacity.
Knowledge of safety, quality, and regulatory standards applicable to field‑based engineering work.
Other:
Languages: Portuguese (fluent); English (working proficiency).
Travel: Up to 50% domestic travel within Brazil, with occasional regional travel as needed.
Certifications: Technical or safety certifications relevant to field service engineering (preferred).
Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license required for customer site visits.
