As an Accountant at Caterpillar, you are responsible to independently perform accounting functions which require preparation, analysis, and communication of issues of normal to high complexity that support Caterpillar business processes. The following job is within the Medium Wheel Loader business resources team. Medium Wheel Loaders are a core machine product line for Caterpillar within the Earthmoving division.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform complex investment analysis and advise others (both accountants and non-accountants)
  • Determine Net Present Value (NPV) & Internal Rate of Return (IRR) for complex projects
  • NPI support including future cost, should cost, alternative analyses and strategy
  • NPI OPACC determination & analysis
  • Post implementation audit (PIA) completion
  • Presentation and explanation of results to business resources and product group management
  • Identify and implement process and efficiency improvements

What You Have:

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.
  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.

Top candidates will also:

  • Accounting degree
  • Have strong background in accounting, cost accounting, and budget development
  • Demonstrate very good communication skills and have a comprehensive knowledge of Caterpillar businesses, products, suppliers and customers

Additional Details:

  • Location:  Peoria, IL
  • This role is a full time, Hybrid position and currently requires 3 days a week in office
  • Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify
  • Sponsorship is not available
  • 5% travel is expected
