The Technology & Innovation Lead position is a hands-on role that involves overseeing global learning technology systems and development-related instructional design work. The selected candidate will closely partner with the Global Leadership Development (GLD) leader and other key stakeholders/learning teams to align learning technology systems, instructional design tools, governance, and learning design standards to help drive business growth and efficiency across the company. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of implementing, integrating, maintaining, and improving learning technology systems, operating standards/governance, and have a strong background in adult learning theory and instructional design principles/tools
Core Responsibilities
Learning Technology Systems
- Serves as a subject matter expert for all global learning technology, company-wide learning data, and technology integrations/platforms (such as Cornerstone Learning Management System (LMS), Udemy, LinkedIn Learning, Ticketing Systems, etc.)
- Partners with LMS admin, HR Operations, IT, and Vendors to complete any needed maintenance, upgrades, customizations, integration, and migration efforts to support global learning technology systems (SSO, backend configuration support, teammate access issues, technical issues, Workday feeds, M&A system migration, etc.)
- Proficient in integrating and utilizing ticketing systems to track and resolve system and user issues/problems/requests; including report out and time spent on working resolutions
Learner Experience
- Acts as the voice of the learners, ensuring that their needs are at the forefront of our efforts and helping the GLD team iterate and improve our learning technologies and design efforts
- Designs, develops, and works to integrate training interventions that are optimized for accessibility and diversity, equity, and inclusion, utilizing a variety of learning modalities: on-demand, instructor-led, or hybrid learning across the company
- Effectively utilizes instructional design methodologies, design standards, and tools tied to adult learning theory to create an overall learner experience
Content & Design Management
- Understands and implements instructional design standards and creates a consistent global learning brand standard guide that will be used with all global learning initiatives, learning programs, etc. across the company
- Proficient with using and guiding others in learning design and authoring tools such as Articulate, Rise/Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia, Vyond, Canva, etc. to create development content for learners
Reporting & Analytics
- Experience driving system and process improvement utilizing data and metrics to determine and drive work
- Effectively can integrate learner, user and key stakeholder feedback into current and future technology and design projects
System & Tool Enhancement
- Identifies and evaluates new learning technologies and innovations that align with GLD strategy and O&Ms strategic goals/priorities, assessing their potential impact, cost, and feasibility for implementation
- Can ensure we are utilizing Cornerstone LMS to its fullest capacity and capability to provide a better learning experience for users and admins
- Stays abreast of external benchmarking/trends, and innovation within design processes and learning technology systems
Quality Assurance
- Experience in maintenance, enhancements, integrations, and data cleanup to create, implement, and improve processes, governance, and SOPs, including successful implementation of complex processes/systems with a global mindset
- Develops and oversees pilot projects to test the viability of proposed innovations, including setting objectives, timelines, and metrics for success
- Performs regular system and content audits and makes appropriate changes (system-related) or provides additional guidance and best practices (to LMS admins) as per governance
Project & Program Management
- Simultaneously manages multiple learning projects holding various levels of complexity and time-critical deliverables through their entire life cycle
- Works with stakeholders in cross-functional project experience with both technical and non-technical teams
- Proficient in creating, assigning, and driving team deliverables to drive results, always keeping the learner experience in mind and meeting tight timelines
- Ability to lead through ambiguity across multiple priorities and know when and where to escalate complex issues for final resolution
Capabilities & Experience Needed
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Technical communication, System Administration, or a similar field
- 8+ years’ experience as a system-wide LMS administration experience, preferably with Cornerstone or similar LMS
- 8+ years’ professional experience in instructional design; having design book/examples a plus
- 8+ years’ experience performing system, content, and governance-related audits regularly to identify issues, enhancements, or additional training needs
- Can lead and help team members thrive in a virtual work environment
- Is flexible and adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
- Proficient in leveraging key Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Forms, Publisher, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.) within daily work
- 8+ years’ experience in using learning and development tools such as Cornerstone LMS, Articulate, Rise/Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Mentimeter, Udemy, LinkedIn Learning, etc.
- Proficient in utilizing monday.com or similar project management tools
- Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned
- Experience with merger and acquisition learning technology systems migration and integration a plus
- Strong understanding of AI concepts, tools, and their applications in learning and development a plus
- ATD, SHRM, or other industry experience/certifications a plus
Additional Information
- The position is remote and located within the U.S. Some flexibility in start and end times may be necessary to support global projects, programs, and initiatives
