Position Overview:

A warehouse associate is responsible for receiving, storing, and managing inventory within a warehouse, including tasks like unloading shipments, picking and packing orders, verifying product accuracy, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the warehouse while adhering to company procedures and safety guidelines; often requiring the ability to lift heavy objects and operate warehouse equipment like forklifts and order pickers.

Essential Functions:

  • Always follow proper safety procedures
  • Mentor employees in skill development and cross train fellow employees
  • Can efficiently perform standard work with minimal direction
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area
  • Assist fellow employees with defect reduction efforts
  • Provide material support to the boat assembly process for boats ranging from 11-42ft.
  • Fill material requirements according to production orders from ticket request
  • Pull materials and parts from shelves and assembles on racks for distribution to manufacturing floor.
  • Expedites parrs and material shortages.
  • Participates in cycle counts of all inventories
  • The use of ladders or driving machinery

  • Proactive team player who is a self-starter with constant attention to improvement.
  • Must be very coachable, adaptable, and self-motivated.
  • Must show an ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required to assure timely completion of projects.
  • Must show an ability to transfer knowledge to line employees through proper training.
  • Must interface well with line employees, supervision team, and departments throughout the company.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to unexpected challenges.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and quality.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with other team members.
  • Physical dexterity and the ability to perform tasks that may involve bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Must have basic reading comprehension and writing skills, be able to work from verbal and written instructions, be capable of working with computer terminals and be able to complete routine paperwork.
  • Ability to remain extremely focused and organized with a high attention to detail / high degree of accuracy.
  • Able to work with multiple priorities and people.
  • This role will require a high level of energy, creative thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Working Conditions:

  • Shop floor working environment.
  • Shop floor is non-climate controlled. Temperature fluctuates with outside environmental conditions, such as air temperature, radiant heat from sunlight, air movement, and humidity levels.
  • Frequent exposure to high temperatures, including a hot and humid environment, especially during summer months.
  • Noise level is moderate with intervals of spikes.
  • Required to wear safety glasses and utilize other safety equipment and personal protect equipment (PPE) while present on the production/shop floor.
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, resins, fiberglass dust & cloths, epoxy, composites, and other chemicals. 
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of times.
  • Ability to regularly bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, climb, and lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Shifts: 

Typically, this position works a 4 – 10 hr a day work week.

*Overtime may be required based on scheduling needs. Boston Whaler reserves the right to adjust shifts and work times as business needs evolve. 

*An hourly premium shift differential is available for employees working night shift. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

The anticipated pay range for this position is $17.00 to $25.85 hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. 

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
