Maintenance Tradesperson - Warehouse

Job Summary

The Maintenance Tradesperson - Warehouse is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building systems, material handling equipment, and facility infrastructure within a warehouse distribution center. This role supports safe, efficient operations by minimizing downtime and ensuring all equipment and facilities remain in proper working conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on warehouse equipment, including conveyor systems, dock doors, dock levels, racking, and wrap machines
  • Maintain building systems such as lighting, electrical outlets, plumbing, and HVAC support
  • Inspect warehouse floors, racking, safety guards, and walkways for damage or hazards and complete repairs as needed
  • Respond quickly to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns to minimize operational downtime
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or inspections
  • Follow all OSHA, safety, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and preventive maintenance schedules
  • Support warehouse layout changes, equipment installations, and facility upgrades

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or industrial environment required
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
  • Experience with conveyor systems, dock equipment, or CMMS systems is a plus
  • Ability to read schematics, manuals, and maintenance documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to lift more than 50lbs assisted
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods
  • Ability to work at heights and in tight or noisy environments
  • Ability to operate a man lift
  • Comfortable working in non-climate-controlled warehouse conditions

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Fast-paced warehouse environment with heavy equipment and moving machinery
  • May require shift work, overtime, weekends, or on-call availability
  • Exposure to dust, noise, and temperature variations

Preferred Skills & Certifications

  • Forklift, scissor lift, or aerial lift certification
  • Electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance certification
  • Experience with CMMS systems
