JOB DESCRIPTION:

About the Role: 

We are seeking a dedicated Systems & Process Engineer Operations to join our Operations Support Team. This role involves providing general support related to equipment, maintenance, processes, and systems within a distribution environment. The focus will be on optimizing warehouse organization, layout, and the equipment, processes, and systems used for various operational activities, adhering to Medical Device Regulations. You will participate in large scale and lead small scale projects and collaborate with all relevant teams to determine the best roles, responsibilities, methods, and timelines for each step in the entire workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute general support to Operations related to equipment, maintenance, processes, and systems.
  • Optimize warehouse organization/layout and equipment, processes, and systems for operational activities.
  • Participate in large-scale projects and lead small-scale projects.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to determine roles, responsibilities, methods, and timelines for workflow steps.
  • Evaluate and improve existing equipment, maintenance, processes, and systems to increase productivity, customer satisfaction, and cost-efficiency without compromising safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Develop and implement new equipment, maintenance, processes, and systems for operational activities.
  • Support and/or manage operations-related projects.
  • Provide ongoing SAP support and actively participate in SAP-related projects.
  • Cooperate and interact with the Operations Team and other departments at the EDC (EHS, Quality, BPI, Customer Service, Supply Planning, Transport, Service Center, etc.) and relevant departments at Business Units (mainly US-based).
  • Proactively solve problems (including hardware and software issues) using available instructions or by developing new methods or techniques.
  • Ensure stock accuracy in the warehouse and manage the cycle count process, performing investigations/reconciliations as required.
  • Investigate service requests/complaints (internal/external) with a good understanding of operational processes.
  • Investigate, resolve, implement, and document NCMRs and CAPAs with a good understanding of operational processes.
  • Ensure activities are carried out according to applicable internal and external processes, procedures, and guidelines (Quality, Environment, Safety, Health).
  • Actively participate and deliver input in team meetings.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of a major ERP system (SAP and WM preferred).
  • Knowledge of ISO13485 is a strong asset.
  • Experience with automation technologies and tools (e.g., robotics, automated guided vehicles, warehouse management systems).
  • Experience in a similar function within a warehouse environment is a strong asset.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written); French is an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of office applications, with strong competencies in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methods (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, flow charting, KPIs).
  • Open-minded, out-of-the-box thinker, able to propose and implement improvements.
  • Analytical, process-oriented, and capable of analyzing existing situations and processes following a structured approach.
  • Strong team player, able to build relationships with colleagues in own and different departments.
  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Hands-on and optimistic attitude.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and quality-minded.
  • Calm under pressure and stress-resistant.
