JOB SUMMARY

The Fashion Design Technician provides support to fashion design faculty and students 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Fashion Design Technician will work with the professors to: 

  • Prep specific class exercises and  

  • Work one-on-one or in small groups with students assisting them with their class-related apparel design projects 

  • Maintain the studio space and classroom equipment such as industrial sewing machines and pressing equipment 

  • Be in charge of ordering any supplies that is needed.  

  • Support to the Fashion Design program such as assisting with local field trips to the fabric store and giving technical support in Patternmaking Club.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The student must be enrolled full-time at Marymount. This student must have a Fashion Design background, have industry knowledge of technical fashion design, and be proficient in the use of industrial sewing machines, overlock machines, and coverstitch machines. The student should possess excellent interpersonal skills to work with faculty, students and professionals in the industry. The student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and good judicial standing.
