American Century Investments® is a leading global asset manager with over 65 years of experience helping a broad base of clients achieve their financial goals. Our expertise spans global equities and fixed income, multi-asset strategies, ETFs, and private investments.
Privately controlled and independent, we focus solely on investment management. But there’s an unexpected side to us, too. We direct 40% of our dividends every year—over $2 billion since 2000—to the Stowers Institute for Medical Research. Our ongoing financial support drives the Institute’s breakthrough work and mission of defeating life-threatening diseases like cancer and Alzheimer’s. So, the better we do for our clients, the more we can do for everyone.
All 1,400 of us across the globe are inspired every day by the unique difference our hard work can make in so many lives. It shows in the curiosity we bring to every initiative, the deep relationships we build with our clients, and the way we treat each other in the hallway. If you’re excited to learn more about us, we can’t wait to learn more about you.
Are you a Senior Data Governance Analyst with a passion for governing unstructured data at scale? In this role, you will partner with business and technology leaders to design and implement enterprise governance controls that make unstructured content trusted, compliant, and AI‑ready.
You will join the Enterprise Data Governance team and play a key role in advancing governance programs across unstructured metadata management, information lifecycle management, records and retention, security standards, cataloging, and stewardship enablement. You will also collaborate with structured data teams to drive consistent, end-to-end governance practices.
Success in this role requires the ability to execute and evolve the data governance operating model, leverage governance tools to automate controls, and solve complex business challenges such as content sprawl, data discoverability, sensitivity labeling, retention, legal hold, and regulatory compliance. You will influence stakeholders, translate governance concepts for both technical and business audiences, and design scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment.
This hybrid position will be based out of our Kansas City, MO office.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

Partner with data platform and cloud engineering teams to define governance requirements and guardrails for AWS-based processes that extract, enrich, and register unstructured metadata.
Design and operationalize governance standards within automated metadata pipelines, ensuring controls for classification, lineage, retention, and access are embedded by design.
Enable trusted use of unstructured data across AI, analytics, and RAG-based solutions by ensuring proper metadata, governance workflows, and stewardship controls are in place.
Align governance practices with AI intake, risk assessment, and inventory processes, ensuring traceability between data, use cases, and controls.
