If so, the Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) Communications team with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is seeking candidates for a Marketing Strategist! This position will be classified as a Marketing Specialist II.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide training and consultation to faculty and staff on marketing strategies, tools, and best practices through workshops, meetings, and one-on-one support

  • Develop internal resources to guide teams in audience identification, channel selection, competitor analysis, and market research and data analysis

  • Conduct market analysis to support program and product positioning and decision-making

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to define marketing goals and develop strategic plans to achieve program success

  • Build and maintain relationships with field staff and county offices to strengthen local and regional marketing efforts

  • Partner with communications teams to ensure alignment in messaging, branding, copywriting, and creative assets across campaigns

  • Plan, manage, and optimize digital marketing campaigns across platforms such as Meta Ads, Google Ads, and similar tools

  • Monitor campaign performance, analyze data, and provide actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders

  • Coordinate with external vendors to support campaign execution and performance monitoring

  • Evaluate and recommend new marketing opportunities and strategies to leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of strategic marketing campaigns, including identifying target audiences, selecting communication channels, conducting competitor research, and collecting and analyzing market data

  • Knowledge of agriculture and natural resources

  • Proven experience successfully using Meta Ads, Google Ads, Search Engine Marketing, Google Marketing Platform or similar digital advertising platform

  • Experience training others or providing guidance on specific processes or tasks

  • Experience delivering presentations to large audiences in professional settings

  • Experience working in project management tools such as Trello

This is a one-year fixed term position with the opportunity for renewal.
