Position Overview
The Manufacturing Supervisor leads the production team and provides direction across all shifts to drive production attainment, ensure safety compliance, and maintain quality standards. This role focuses on meeting production goals, improving processes, and developing supervisory and shop-floor talent.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily production operations to achieve or exceed output targets, actively monitoring schedules, KPIs, and workflow performance while driving timely corrective actions.
Develop and support team members by coaching, mentoring, and guiding supervisors and operators; maintain training plans, ensure skill readiness, and identify high‑potential employees for advancement.
Champion a strong safety culture by conducting regular training, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety standards, and immediately addressing hazards or unsafe conditions.
Ensure consistent product quality through routine inspections, audits, and adherence to process controls; lead initiatives focused on reducing defects, rework, and quality‑related downtime.
Drive continuous improvement by implementing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to increase throughput, reduce waste, enhance efficiency, and minimize equipment or process interruptions.
Collaborate effectively across functions—including engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and safety—to align on production priorities, resolve cross‑functional issues, and support improvement projects.
Swiftly troubleshoot and resolve production bottlenecks, equipment concerns, or personnel issues to maintain operational flow and minimize disruptions.
Prepare and deliver clear, data‑driven reports related to production performance, safety metrics, and quality results for presentation to leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field preferred; Six Sigma/Lean certifications and hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies strongly valued.
Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity with demonstrated application of Lean principles and continuous improvement tools.
Strong leadership and communication abilities, with proven success in analytical problem‑solving and data-driven decision making.
Proficiency with manufacturing software and ERP systems, along with comprehensive knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and safety compliance requirements.
Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution, coaching, and people development, with the ability to build engaged teams and maintain a positive, collaborative work environment.
Working Conditions
On-site in a manufacturing facility; may involve exposure to machinery, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
