What You’ll Do

Epic User and Security administrates user and provider records and manages role based security files in Epic.  Coordinates with the Ambulatory and Inpatient project managers to determine appropriate access.  Responsible for creating profiles and records, maintaining accessibility for qualified users, and updating user functionality.  Duties include security administration and resolving or escalating security issues for all aspects of the Epic Applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for set up, monitoring, and maintenance of Multiple Security Classes for General and Shared Security Classes including but not limited to EpicCare Inpatient, EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Pharmacy, OpTime OR Management, and MyChart. 

  • Responsible for Epic security set up, upgrade, and maintenance of all qualified users and providers. 

  • Responsible for set up and updating Security Classes and Security Points for user records. Responsible for building Security Classes and attaching user roles to user records. 

  • Responsible for applying specific workflow needs to a Security Class build in order to maintain appropriate functionality. 

  • Responsible for building and coordinating the maintenance of user roles and profiles.  

  • Responsible for participating and coordinating security meetings with IP and Ambulatory security team members and communicating security updates to the project teams.  

  • Responsible for set up, maintenance, and upgrade of Epic for user access and functionality updates with the latest releases. 

  • Performs routine maintenance; logging, troubleshooting, and escalating security issues as needed. 

  • Achieves and maintains Epic Certification as necessary and/or attending training in Security Overview class. 

  • Supports and maintains security administration in multiple applications. 

  • Acts as an in-house consultant regarding user security and application functionality. 

  • Maintains appropriate record of user and provider access. 

  • Maintains technical expertise with current and evolving technologies within the Information Systems industry. 

  • Advises application coordinators and analysts on the functions of security access and user functionality. 

  • Acts as an in-house expert on Epic security administration. 

  • Assists Director and Project Managers in building and maintaining project team securities for Clinical Administration, Chronicles, Bridges, etc.   

  • Provides assistance and documentation to operations and help desk personnel on security issues as needed. 

  • Serves as a member of the technical project teamMeets regularly with other members of the technical team to discuss issues and provide solutions. 

  • Must have a thorough grasp of the Epic Clinical Applications and workflows within hospital and ambulatory settings.  In addition, adaptability to stressful, ever changing situations is highly desirable.   

  • Must have a thorough grasp of user access and functionality.   

  • Must possess a thorough understanding of health related applications and be able to apply technology to solve user problems. 

  • All applicable Epic applications including Hyperspace and Chronicles interfaces. 

  • Required to interface with application analysts, users, providers, department heads, vendors, and multidisciplinary professionals. 

Requirements 

  • Clean driving record 

  • Travel between facilities may be required 

  • Two (2) years of professional experience directly related

  • Must obtain required vendor certifications for support within 3 attempts  

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration, or equivalent work experience.
