As a Financial Analyst I, you will prepare, analyze, and report key financial and revenue cycle management (RCM) information, creating both standard and ad hoc reports to support the needs of the enterprise. In this role, you will provide financial assistance to internal and external research institutions, delivering exceptional customer support for all sponsored program inquiries.
This opportunity is within the Office of Sponsored Programs Accounting (SPA). The SPA supports the research enterprise at Cleveland Clinic by managing the accounting of sponsored activity, including financial reporting, billing and revenue management, project receivable oversight, and project-to-general ledger reconciliations. The team also ensures compliance and financial integrity through participation in and management of internal and external audit engagements. Additionally, SPA maintains relationships with sponsoring agencies and Cleveland Clinic Foundation personnel to ensure that sponsored program financial data remains accurate and compliant.
A caregiver in this role works remotely from 8:00 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m. (flexible start/end times)
Candidates must reside in NE Ohio and be available to meet on-site at West Creek in Independence once a month with the team, as well as on an as-needed basis.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Prepare, analyze and communicate key financial information and provide support to management and other staff members regarding financial reporting and other related issues.
Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes and budget review for compliance and opportunities.
Serve as consultant to all levels of management to provide decision support for initiatives, policies and procedures.
Complete special projects and duties including providing necessary research, forecasting and conflict resolution.
Review and reconcile Oracle system adjustments/issues relating to billing and revenue for sponsored projects, refunds, and general ledger account reconciliation items.
Complete a variety of general ledger account reconciliations ensuring their accuracy and journalizing correcting entries as needed.
Support the management of project related accounts receivables through the preparation and posting of monthly cash payments, reconciliation and correction of misapplied payments, management of unidentified cash receipts.
Follow-up with research sponsors and departments to assure accuracy of accounts receivable.
Provide financial assistance to various internal and external research institutions providing superior customer support for all sponsored programs inquiries.
Assist with the coordination and management of external audits, providing documentation, explanations, and various other requests to external auditors and management as needed.
Support the development and implementation of post award procedures and compliance programs.
Develop ROI models and business cases.
Serve as Finance representative on complex project teams.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field
OR Associate’s Degree and two years of experience
OR High School Diploma/GED and four years of experience
Ability to complete basic analytical, consultative and information support through analysis and report preparation.
Knowledge of key performance indicators, cash flow analysis, product line analysis and proposal development
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One year of Accounting, Finance, Healthcare, Investment Banking or Management Consulting experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Account (CMA) certification
Financial background
Excel and Microsoft Office experience
Physical Requirements:
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment.
In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs.
