Based on internal CRM role definitions and role cards, an Associate Client Development Director (ACDD) in Financial Services is primarily responsible for winning new business in new accounts, building pipeline, developing executive relationships, and driving new ACV growth. Unlike an Account Manager, who focuses on expanding existing clients, the ACDD is focused on net-new logo acquisition and market penetration.

Associate Client Development Director – Financial Services

Role Summary

The Associate Client Development Director is responsible for identifying, engaging, qualifying, and converting new prospective clients within the financial services sector. This role owns the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution and works closely with Solutions Consulting, Value Engineering, Marketing, Services, and executive stakeholders to deliver predictable revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Pipeline Creation

  • Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans for target prospects.
  • Generate qualified pipeline through outbound prospecting, executive networking, industry events, partner relationships, and marketing-generated leads.
  • Identify client business challenges and align solutions to strategic outcomes.
  • Build and maintain sufficient pipeline coverage to achieve quota attainment.

Sales Execution

  • Lead complex enterprise sales cycles from discovery through close.
  • Drive qualification using established sales methodologies.
  • Coordinate internal resources including Solutions Consultants, Value Engineering, Product, Services, and Leadership teams.
  • Develop compelling business cases and executive presentations for client stakeholders.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and guide deals to successful completion.

Client Relationship Development

  • Build trusted advisor relationships with C-suite executives, business leaders, and operational stakeholders.
  • Understand client strategic priorities, growth initiatives, and transformation objectives.
  • Establish multi-threaded relationships across target organizations.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, executive events, and client meetings.

Market & Industry Expertise

  • Maintain deep knowledge of financial services markets, industry trends, and competitive solutions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for assigned industry segments.
  • Leverage industry insights to create differentiated value propositions for prospective clients.

Forecasting & Operational Excellence

  • Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity plans, and forecasting.
  • Deliver predictable forecast accuracy and pipeline reporting.
  • Ensure sales activities, account plans, and deal progression are documented and maintained.

Required Experience

  • 7–15+ years of enterprise software, technology, or financial services sales experience.
  • Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets in complex consultative sales environments.
  • Experience selling to senior executives within private equity, investment banking, real estate, asset management, or broader financial services organizations.
  • Strong executive presence, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage long, multi-stakeholder enterprise buying cycles.
