ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has excellent and immediate openings for part-time Box Office Representatives at John Paul Jones Arena located in Charlottesville, Virginia.  Box Office Representatives are responsible for ticket sales for shows and events.  We are seeking candidates with availability on evenings and/or weekends as needed (varies by event schedule). This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for helping people.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Process ticket sales at the box office window.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, responds promptly to customer needs, responds to requests for service and assistance; able to work independently and handle most box office questions without assistance.
• Collecting and accurately reporting on all payments that have been received/generated.
• Resolve customer ticket-related issues (transfers, barcodes, account issues, mobile ticketing education, etc.) by researching ticketing accounts in assistance with a ticketing supervisor if needed.
• Becomes knowledgeable about each event; efficiently and courteously answers questions concerning prices, seating, etc. Gives information concerning coming attractions.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Previous customer service and cash handling experience required.
• Prior box office/ticketing experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to input data into a computer to record sales transactions.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills; able to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of the team.
• Ability to work long and irregular hours which may vary due to functions and can include daytime, evening, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
• Must have professional attitude and appearance.
• Comfortable working in an office environment where, at times, the noise level can be loud in an arena environment.
• Maintain a client service-oriented attitude with different personalities and produce accurate results.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have some knowledge of computers. Experience in computerized ticket systems preferred. Knowledge of mobile ticketing apps are preferred.
