MAIN REPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
• Medical Lead I&I for Egypt will provide medical leadership to Egypt Market with extended responsibilities to support Levant and Iraq & will be responsible for developing and executing the I&I Medical Team’s vision and strategy in alignment with the Commercial Lead.
• The Medical Lead I&I is the single point of accountability for I&I therapeutic areas in the cluster & works closely cross functionally to support the product portfolio. He/she will report to the ELI Cluster Medical Lead and be part of the ELI cluster Medical LT. He/she will be responsible for managing high performing field medical colleagues in his/her team & will ensure that the cluster medical functions systems, processes & activities are fully aligned with local, regional, and IMB/EM business priorities, strategies and needs, as well as, in compliance with corporate policies, SOPs & guidelines.
• The Medical Lead provides medical guidance and input to the regulatory, safety and commercial leadership teams in support of key product maintenance & defense activities. He/she will develop strategic partnerships with key clinical and other stakeholders; developing strategies aligned to customer needs to maintain a therapeutic leadership position and drive business needs at the cluster level. The lead will also focus on ensuring excellence with respect to medical quality and compliance as well as professional external relations.
REQUIRED SKILL SET
Qualifications (i.e., preferred education, experience, attributes):
• At Least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with at least of 2 years’ experience in medical affairs/research job. broad experience with regulatory, Quality and/or safety risk management issues are preferrable.
• Understanding of the local health environment & knowledge of the relevant and applicable local and regional Codes of Practice, SOPs, regulations, and guidelines
• Knowledge of pharmacovigilance & regulatory legislation and how it impacts product portfolio.
• Proactive, pragmatic, flexible person with excellent leadership qualities, strategic thinking, communication & presentation skills
• Fluency in English; Fluency in local language.
• Ability to work successfully with cross-functional staff in a team setting.
• Analytic and organizational skills in managing, interpreting, and presenting clinical and marketing data, for regional assessment.
• Ability to communicate, develop, and manage collaborative relationships with external academic institutions, co-operative groups, and medical professionals.
• University degree in Medicine or Pharmacy
• Ability to travel through the cluster is a requirement.
• Effectively manage through and lead change in an ever-changing and evolving external health care environment
