- Challenge yourself to execute the research and design of premium, forward-thinking experiences for Qantas Loyalty’s mobile apps
- Opportunity to work with a broad stakeholder group
- Full-time permanent role based at our Corporate Campus in Mascot
Working in Qantas Loyalty is exciting and fast moving. We love what we do and look forward to what we might create for the future. Being part of a business that’s constantly changing challenges us to think and move on our feet quickly. Our agile way of working enables us to be responsive to business requirements and helps us to deliver exceptional outcomes. By taking the time to recognise and reward our members, we build stronger relationships with the people who matter most.
As a Senior Product Designer, you will be responsible for executing research, UX and UI design on Qantas Loyalty’s mobile apps. Product designers at Qantas drive UX strategy and interaction design to create products that engage and inspire. We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of design thinking, human-centred design, experience design and research methods.
The ideal candidate will be an innovative problem solver, self-starter, and strong collaborator who excels in a fast-paced environment.
You will work with other designers, product managers and developers to ensure all aspects of our design solutions are intuitive, consistent, accessible and align with the goals of the project. This is a unique opportunity in a hands-on role where the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for producing and executing UX deliverables from user research and validation through to wireframing, prototyping and ideation as well as UI style guides, high-fidelity mockups, etc.
You'll be:
- Acting as the ‘voice of the customer’ within the team, ensuring that appropriate research, design and insights underpin design solutions.
- Conducting user research including various forms of in-person, focus group, remote/unmoderated research, surveys and customer validation.
- Planning, conducting, and leading ideation workshops and design jams.
- Prototyping solutions in various levels of fidelity and interactivity, and iterate on them based on user and stakeholder feedback.
- Collaborating with Qantas Design System owners and specialist UI designers and product managers to create user-focused designs informed by market analysis, customer requirements, and user research.
- Visual design and high-fidelity prototyping and mockups from wireframes ready to be exported to developers.
You'll have:
- 5+ years of design experience—taking ownership, driving understanding, and delivering solutions that enhance the user experience and drive engagement.
- Strong background in experience design, conducting and documenting research, crafting wireframes, information architecture, storyboards, sitemaps and screen flows.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as a solid understanding of user-centred design principles.
- A practical, design-appropriate understanding of the technical requirements of mobile apps, including native iOS and Android frameworks and server-driven UI. This isn’t a technical role, but you will be collaborating with technical teams frequently and must design solutions that can be delivered via available APIs and tech stacks.
- Beautiful design aesthetic focusing on function while marrying compelling graphic design, leveraging Design System componentry where relevant and complementing our existing interaction patterns.
- Strong working knowledge of Figma, Miro and analytics and testing platforms.
- An outstanding portfolio, showcasing a foundation in Research, Prototyping, Interaction and Visual Design, with an emphasis on mobile application design.
- Experience in an agile team utilising scrum methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders across all levels of the business and work autonomously with these stakeholders.
- Impeccable attention to detail in deliverables, and confidence in your ability to present them to internal stakeholders, inc. c-level suite, and clearly articulate your design decisions.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to senior executives in a clear and concise manner, in both written and verbal formats.
- Ability to influence decision-makers with empirical and analytical data as a source of truth.
- Ability to ask the right questions to get the ideal outcomes!
