The Head of Finance Operations is a strategic leadership role responsible for enhancing the financial integrity and compliance framework of the organization. This position serves as the global process owner for finance, accountable for accelerating deliverables and reducing domestic production activities to 25% of their current level. The role requires close collaboration with the Data & Analytics team and other teams within Finance to ensure a comprehensive and efficient financial operation. Additionally, this role directs and coordinates the execution of the financial audit plan, reports across the three lines of defense, and coordinates the agenda for both the audit committee and our internal management to ensure a comprehensive view of our financial reporting risks. The incumbent provides inspiring leadership to a team of talented Financial Controls professionals and responsible for creating a culture of excellence and inclusion.  This role will be aligned to our Jersey City, NJ office on a hybrid basis. 

What You Will Do:

  • Finance Process Ownership: Oversee and manage enterprise-wide financial processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all regions. Including:
    • Deliverables acceleration: Develop and implement strategies to accelerate financial deliverables, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
    • Workflow automation: Implement a workflow tool to automate financial processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
    • Domestic Production Reduction: Lead initiatives to reduce domestic production activities to 25% of their current level, optimizing resources and processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Data & Analytics team and other Finance teams to identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities. Collaborate cross functionally with Internal Audit, ERM, and external stakeholders on audit and controls process innovations.
  • Audit Coordination:
    • Develop and coordinate a comprehensive financial controls audit plan, chair a management committee overseeing the internal control environment, and coordinate the agenda for the audit committee and internal management.
    • Act as the primary liaison with PwC, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment on audit activities.
  • Manage the Control Environment:
    • Architect and regularly review the control environment to ensure an appropriate ratio of manual to automated controls and a balance between preventative and monitoring/detective controls.
    • Lead a team responsible for the testing and design of financial controls, ensuring an appropriate balance between manual and automated controls. The team will coordinate efforts to remediate control deficiencies in an expedited manner to confirm their effectiveness.
  • Reporting and Communication: Regularly communicate calendars and key operational performance metrics to stakeholders. Ensure effective communication to various audiences, including management, audit committee, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Program Management of Finance Activities: Oversee the program management of overall finance activities, including maintaining a calendar and regularly communicating progress against milestones and dates. Regularly communicate upcoming deliverables, lead resolution of issues, and ensure that all processes are documented.
  • Finance Strategic Management System: Manage the finance strategic management system, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Quarterly Offsite Planning: Conduct and plan quarterly offsite meetings with the leadership team to review and adjust the strategic plan.

What You Will Have:

  • Proven expertise in financial controls, audit, or related fields.
  • In-depth knowledge of audit processes and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with excellent influencing abilities to engage multiple teams towards achieving the desired operating environment.
  • Highly collaborative with ability to work across multifaceted teams to co-create solutions and deliver on priorities.
  • Ability to design and implement sophisticated control environments.

  • Advanced program management skills with proven success in leading complex, highly matrixed initiatives.
  • Strong change leadership with ability to help teams navigate evolving business conditions.
  • Prior offshoring or hyper automation experience a plus.

The base salary range for this role is listed below and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.  

Base Salary Range
$250,000$300,000 USD
