What you'll be doing

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of software developers and engineers, fostering collaboration, innovation, and accountability

  • Guide the design, development, and delivery of clinical trial data collection applications and digital patient solutions

  • Contribute to technology strategy, architectural direction, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization

  • Partner with Product Development, Quality, Project Management, Customer Success, and Sales teams to ensure successful product delivery and client satisfaction

  • Oversee complex customer implementations and provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle

  • Drive operational readiness activities, including pilot projects, validation support, process improvements, and Kaizen initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and internal processes in a regulated healthcare environment

  • Establish and maintain development standards, technical best practices, SOPs, and training programs

  • Communicate technical decisions, project status, risks, timelines, and priorities to stakeholders at all levels

  • Identify and resolve technical challenges, delivery risks, and performance issues while promoting scalable and sustainable solutions

  • Support resource planning, project prioritization, and delivery management to achieve productivity, quality, and business goals

  • Collaborate with Human Resources on hiring, onboarding, employee development, performance management, and talent retention

  • Inspire teams through clear direction, effective decision-making, and a culture of continuous learning and improvement

What we look for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 7+ years of software development experience

  • 3+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing software engineering teams

  • Experience managing global and/or distributed teams is highly desirable

  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle within fast-paced development environments

  • Knowledge of life sciences, healthcare technology, clinical trials, or pharmaceutical software development

  • Experience working in regulated environments and familiarity with standards such as ISO 9001 and FDA 21 CFR Part 11

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within tight timelines

  • Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall approaches

  • Strong technical background with exposure to technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, Java, iOS, Android, C/C++, Cordova/Xamarin, and web application development

  • Knowledge of SQL and database technologies

  • Experience with development and collaboration tools such as GitLab, JIRA, Visual Studio, Eclipse, TFS, or similar platforms

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and leadership skills

  • Ability to influence technical direction, build consensus, and drive organizational change
