The Applications Engineer will be responsible for driving growth of outcome or performance-based contracts for pumping and treatment applications across the designated territory. Will put together technical as well as commercial proposals for moderate to complex customer process solutions, requiring performance/outcome guarantees on a long-term basis.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
Selects appropriate equipment / material to meet customer needs and to develop project costing and pricing from among the brands belonging to the WI segment.
Generates customer proposals utilizing standard tools, seeks and gains appropriate approval levels.
Accompanies and assists commercial teams on customer site visits – where a site appraisal/feasibility study is required.
Creates, administers and reviews tender submittal documents. · Prepare technical documentation
Creating and tracking of quotations
Provide professional advice for customers
Deliver training sessions for customers or internal teams
Maintain and update CRM systems
Supporting the Customer Service team in order management processes through technical assistance, item number entry, and other item-related inquiries.
Key Competencies:
High-level of proficiency with MS Office applications.
Excellent ability to communicate in English, French and Arabic is a strong advantage
Cross-boundary collaboration with stakeholders from other business areas and disciplines.
Ability to build relationships and to influence key stakeholders without having a direct supervisory relationship.
Ability to engage and communicate effectively in customer-facing settings.
Good understanding of technical and commercial risks involved in the design and development of solutions.
Solid understanding of the sales process and how organizational role influences outcome.
Working understanding of contractual terms and conditions.
Thorough understanding of common components and their application.
Good understanding of pricing and financial principles as related to lifecycle services and/or long-term contractual arrangements.
Positive mindset with a focus on what can be done (rather than on what cannot be done).
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Proven ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize, meet deadlines and work independently with initiative in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Environmental or similar).
2 years experience in similar field
