Position Overview:

The Analyst will work closely with junior and senior members of the risk compliance team to implement and monitor investment guideline compliance for various Funds, CLOs, and Separate Accounts managed by Apollo. The Analyst will support and gain exposure to all aspects of the risk compliance program, including implementing and encoring policies and procedures, setting up and monitoring compliance tests in the firm’s trading systems, as well as reporting on and analyzing test results.

Primary Responsibility:

  • Assist in drafting, maintaining, and implementing policies and procedures.

  • Facilitate set up and maintenance of compliance tests in trading systems.

  • Review various funds’ investment guideline compliance results generated through trading systems.

  • Perform ongoing validation checks of investment guideline test results.

  • Respond to inquiries from traders and portfolio managers related to guideline compliance results.

  • Research issues with the fund operations team to validate position and other security-related data.

  • Complete reconciliations of compliance results with CLO Trustee on a regularly scheduled cadence

  • Ad-hoc analysis and reporting on a variety of compliance metrics.

Qualifications & Experience

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: (Academic, Professional, Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree with an excellent record of academic achievement, preferably in Finance or a related field

  • 1-3 years of relevant compliance experience within a financial services organization

  • Knowledge of both United States and United Kingdom financial markets

  • Experience with investment guideline compliance required; familiarity operating within order management systems, e.g., Everest, Aladdin, thinkFolio, Charlse River, etc. 

  • Base-level understanding of various financial instruments, including bank loans, corporate bonds, and collateralized loan obligations across a broad range of investment platforms.

  • Understanding that work schedule will require partial overlap with New York (EST) business hours.

  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues while exercising independent judgment.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • High ethical standards

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, proficiency in VBA preferred.

  • Experience with Everest and VPM preferred.
