Position Overview
The Associate Director, IT Solution Delivery will operate as an influential and trusted partner for Exact Sciences’ business functions and business constituents. This role interacts frequently and consistently with a variety of stakeholders to intake, assess, evaluate, and plan the delivery of technology capabilities that address business gaps and strategic business objectives. This position leads the delivery of a portfolio of projects, managing and negotiating scope changes, priorities and dependencies. The Associate Director, IT Business Solutions leads a team of delivery resources and is responsible to achieve strong business results.
As a key technology leader to drive, design, and implement business and technology strategy, the Associate Director, IT Solution Delivery will champion recommendations on how to evolve the business support systems to meet the growth demands the company continues to experience. This is a cross-functional role that collaborates with peer groups across functions and is the point person for technology leadership to business stakeholders.
Essential Duties
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Partner with assigned business domains to drive business and technology roadmaps forward.
- Responsible for business relationships, business systems performance, and the identification and delivery of new and existing technology services to meet the business units’ known and emerging needs.
- Build, manage, and deliver a portfolio of technology programs and projects of medium-to-high complexity that improve business process capabilities.
- Develop and manage business technology roadmaps through working with the senior management of the business.
- Lead scope and trade-off discussions.
- Partner with stakeholders to influence, define, and author business cases and high-level requirements.
- Influence decisions and processes with business stakeholders and platform teams.
- Collaborate and partner with enterprise platform and technical teams to define solution and implementation plan.
- Direct and evaluate feasibility studies, project scoping, and project planning for business applications projects.
- Define, plan, and direct the execution of a broad range of technical projects, while balancing the competing demands of scope, time, cost, quality, resources, and risk.
- Establish priorities and schedules for business application projects.
- Oversee project execution and actively manage the project portfolio.
- Work on projects for multiple business units, ongoing acquisition integration activity, and large cross-functional program implementations.
- Manage relationships with various internal and external technology and business communities to achieve project objectives across the project portfolio.
- Conduct risk management planning, identification, analysis, and monitoring on projects.
- Manage enhancements of the related business systems and drive operational efficiencies across processes and technology that support the business operations and strategic company projects.
- Develop schedules, budgets, risk management plans, quality goals, and lead the team to success.
- Actively participate in design and usability reviews to ensure alignment with stakeholders.
- Lead the annual planning process for a specific business domain, identifying future year initiatives required to achieve revenue, operations, and customer service goals.
- Maintain detailed program metrics around initiative goals.
- Drive continuous improvements in all aspects of the process.
- Drive tough decision making, while balancing business goals, technical implications, and timelines.
- Formulate, organize, and monitor inter-connected projects.
- Partner on intangible issues across organizational and business-entity boundaries.
- Manage internal and external teams and operations across functional boundaries.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more technologies.
- Mentor and lead IT program team members.
- Supervise staff; including, but not limited to, organize and prioritize work, write/conduct performance reviews, train/develop, and manage work performance.
- Communicate goals clearly to employees to ensure understanding and success in achieving them.
- Motivate and inspire employees to do their best work through coaching.
- Maintain morale and support employee engagement initiatives.

- Ability and means to travel between local Exact Sciences locations.
- Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in field as outlined in the essential duties; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.
- 10+ years of experience leading a technology team.
- 8+ years of experience working in large, complex implementations.
- 5+ years of direct management experience.
- Demonstrated progressive achievement and growth in IT and business domains.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a budget.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment, particularly in cross-functional teams across multiple business application tracks.
- Demonstrated understanding of program management.
- Demonstrated project delivery involving complex business workflows or system architectures.
- Demonstrated understanding of application management.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC and/or ITIL.
- Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of software and hardware solutions, multi-vendor environments and hybrid environment of on premise, co-located, and cloud-based services.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Salary Range:
$133,000.00 - $226,000.00
The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible.
