We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for the continued development of an advanced, leading-edge, hybrid software system providing excellent technical guidance and team communication. As the Lead Systems Engineer, you will function in a senior technical role and will effectively work and communicate with all levels of Program Leadership, Customers, and Engineers on the Program team. This position is on-site in Richardson, Texas.

What You Will Do

  • The Systems engineer will be responsible for leading the team regarding technical planning and capability design for the agile development teams

  • The System engineer is required to have significant domain knowledge of IC software systems, networking, infrastructure, and cyber security

  • The Systems engineer, in addition to being experienced with design and architecture for the cloud, must be able to analyze complex requirements and determine viable solutions for the customer

  • The Systems engineer is required to have experience in leading multi-segment enterprise tests driving predictable performance outcomes

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum of 8 years’ experience

  • 6-yrs minimum engineering experience on large-scale distributed software system programs

  • Experience working with multi-disciplined engineers and stake holders, developing system solutions to meet customer needs and requirements, Experienced with requirements decomposition and experience with IC CONOPS development

  • Experience in systems engineering, including large software systems and Technical Team Lead / IC domain subject matter expert experience  

  • Experience working in the full software development lifecycle that ensures high quality software is built and released to end-users quickly and within cost and schedule parameters

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience working and communicating with all levels of engineering development in large government software development programs as well as individual contributors

  • Experience using Architecture Frameworks such as DoDAF for definition of large systems with complex integration and interoperability challenges

  • Experience developing operational overviews and details aimed at specific stakeholders within their domain and in interaction with other domains in which the system will operate

  • Experience with AWS cloud technology and implementation

  • Experience using modeling resources and methodologies like Cameo, Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody, etc.

  • Experience with Cloud technologies and Cloud migration, Containerization and databases, Automation (Build, Deploy, Test)

  • Experience using Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.), and evaluation of COTS

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
