Job Description Summary:
Provides customer service and monitors member and guest activity within the fitness center. Maintains fitness areas, promotes, and conducts training programs and classes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one (1) of the following required:
- Undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science and must successfully obtain one (1) of the certifications listed below within six (6) months of hire.
- Possess a minimum of one (1) of the following nationally credited certifications:
- Personal Trainer
- Exercise Physiologist
- Clinical Exercise Physiologist
- CSCS Certification
- Current CPR AED certification preferred and must successfully obtain within sixty (60) days of hire.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an exercise/fitness professional preferred
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
- Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
Job Specific Duties:
- Provides exceptional customer service to all facility users and monitors activities in the fitness area to ensure user safety as applicable to assigned area(s).
- Actively circulates and maintains the fitness area(s) to include, but may not be limited to; the track, turf, studios, and gymnasium.
- Cleans and sanitizes all equipment on scheduled rotation and seeks additional assistance per department protocol.
- Ensures fitness areas are neat, organized and reflect appropriate equipment for designated areas.
- Enforces fitness center rules and policies to ensure safety for facility users.
- Reports maintenance and equipment repair needs per department procedures.
- Conducts new member orientations, fitness consultations, and InBody body composition analysis as applicable to assigned area(s).
- Promotes and assists with scheduling sessions as applicable to assigned area(s).
- Performs documentation and reporting tasks per department protocol and as applicable to assigned area(s).
