Global EHS Program Manager

Description -

The Global EHS Program Manager position will help support a team of global EHS experts to drive business strategy to take HP's Global EHS programs to new heights. This position will work with many cross functional key partners across the globe to help ensure HP's Global EHS programs are supporting HP's overall businesses and growth. This position will focus heavily on leading data and strategy for the EHS Team.

Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas. Successfully operates in the most complex disciplines, in which the company must operate to be successful. Provides highly innovative solutions. Leads large, cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organizations long-term goals and objectives.

May participate in cross-division, multi-function teams. Provides mentoring and guidance to lower level employees. Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives. Develops strategy and sets functional policy and direction. Acts as a functional manager within area of expertise but does not manage other employees as a primary job function.

Global EHS Program Manager:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage Global EHS Data and Strategy Initiatives
  • Own and manage Global EHS Software and technology
  • Own and manage various programs that help support HP's overall growth and businesses across the globe.
  • Program support for a variety of global EHS programs and policies including but not limited to: Audit and assurance, ISO 14001, Ergonomics, General Health, and Safety, Environmental, Research and Development, Training, etc...
  • Serve as a lead global EHS auditor auditing various international HP sites.
  • Own and provide support to global EHS software systems.
  • Manage PO's and budgets for a global team.
  • Serve as a liaison between global EHS and other business partners and vendors.
  • Support process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide overall program manager support for a variety of high-level projects.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing highly specialized technical areas globally.
  • Must be a self starter and highly motivated
  • Manages and delegates multiple operations for high-impact and/or complex projects.
  • Acts as the point of escalation for big issues or questions.
  • Responsible for development of strategic training programs and leads implementation efforts on a global level.
  • Acts as go-to consultant to lower levels in specialized technical area.
  • Manages multiple, complex project budgets and strategizes how to cut costs.
  • Strategizes and plans complex EHS initiatives that apply to HP regionally or globally; participates in strategic planning to align EHS programs with HP goals.
  • Interacts frequently with corporate management and managers of other functions on a global basis to discuss EHS strategies.
  • Implements highly complex management systems and aligns them with HP strategy.
  • Works across business functions when necessary.

Education and Experience Required:

  • First level university degree in related environmental, health, and safety science field required; advanced degree in related science field strongly preferred.
  • CSP, CIH, or PMP professional designations highly preferred.
  • Typically, 5-10+ years of experience in related field recommended.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of legislation and HP regulations across multiple provinces, states, or countries, generally and as applicable to a highly- specialized field.
  • Broad and deep specialized technical abilities.
  • Advanced communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent ability to manage complex projects.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, planning, and business acumen.
  • Excellent ability to operate in complex, high stress environments in multiple countries.

  • Excellent ability to evaluate projects from time-value standpoint.

The base pay range for this role is $102,500 to $157,850 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only).  Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
