Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) within Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an exceptionally talented, motivated, and creative Lithography Process Engineering Manager for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located outside of Baltimore, Maryland - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs.

Our multidisciplinary foundry team enables activities from development to sustainment process engineering. ATL is responsible for all aspects of semiconductor technology including design, mask making, wafer fabrication, test, and assembly. The candidate must be a strong team participant, have excellent communication skills, be resourceful, and multi-talented. A strong understanding of production logistics, distributed operations, process line generation and sustainment, and management of 24/7 teams is essential. Experience coordinating or leading strategic capital acquisitions and facility expansion activities is highly desired in order to support our growth roadmap. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong leadership characteristics, a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Job Summary
This position will be a manager of managers, will have direct technical reports, and will be reporting directly to the Senior Photolithography Engineering Manager at ATL. The Lithography Process Engineering Manager will be responsible for staffing, employee tasking, project management, budget oversight, and program /engineering interface activities. Functional duties include hiring, on-boarding, personnel performance assessments, employee tasking, project oversight, time charging approval, and employee development.
The Lithography Process Engineering Manager will be responsible for management activities and general technical activities supporting the various products at ATL. They will also be directing sustainment and workflow improvement activities supporting lithography processes including workload distribution, project allocation, equipment repair and troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis, and Quality inspection. Additionally, this manager will oversee sustainment and operations across all lithography process areas including Electron Beam, Laser-Direct Write, and Optical Lithography modules.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or Business Administration, with 7 years of Production, Manufacturing, Logistics, and/or DoD affiliated Operations Management experience. ( 5 years experience for MS, and 3 years experience for PHD).
Experience leading teams of 30 or more individuals.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as demonstrated conflict resolution and change management experience.
Working knowledge of Root Cause Analysis, Metrics based performance assessment, and equipment asset repair, maintenance, inspection, and sustainment.
Experience working in a high operations tempo production environment managing 24/7 staffing.
Experience managing a quality assurance and/or formal department self-inspection program.
US Citizenship required
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
MS degree in Engineering or Science • Direct experience with semiconductor fabrication and working in a cleanroom environment.
Experience managing managers and larger teams 30 – 80 people
Experience or working knowledge of Wets / Advanced Materials, PVD, CVD, CMP, and Dry Etch processing.
Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to identify manufacturing improvements, manage change, and implement solutions.
Ability and desire to assume a technical leadership role within the organization.
Experience coordinating with the fab operations, maintenance, and facilities teams.
Experience with semiconductor lithography including: EBEAM, Optical Lithography (DUV & ILN), contact aligners, thin-film coating tracks (TEL & SVG), CDSEM, and overlay tools
Experience with the photo-mask making process.
Experience with workflow modeling, application of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) practices, and establishment of a metrics-based readiness reporting program.
