What you will do
As a part of JCI’s Indirect Procurement organization, you will function as a procurement business partner, interfacing directly with one or more business units to ensure category strategies, programs and corporate initiatives are effectively and efficiently deployed. You will also identify cost savings and trade working capital improvement opportunities and create/drive project plans in manufacturing plants, distribution centers and corporate offices in North America.
How you will do it:
Be a true business partner for the assigned business unit(s). Understand procurement’s role and how this enables true business success. Understand business priorities and key stakeholder expectations, translate these requirements, and ensure corporate category strategies reflect these needs.
Be a spokesperson for the indirect procurement organization. Understand where, how and when indirect procurement can deliver value to the business. Clearly articulate how this relates to business needs, represent, and drive this agenda.
Be the enabler and change agent for the enterprise. Effectively liaise between the assigned business unit, corporate category management team and supporting functions to ensure alignment and accountability in execution and drive action.
Execute spend analysis for your assigned business unit. Identify what we buy, who we buy from, where we buy it, how we buy it and why we buy it. Understand how this fits into the broader indirect procurement landscape and how it can be optimized to meet or exceed annual goals related to savings and trade working capital improvement.
Own the effective and efficient deployment of corporate category strategies for your assigned business units. Drive preferred supplier adoption and utilization to ensure negotiated value is captured.
Drive business facing procurement strategies to standardize, manage demand and drive a lower total cost of ownership for the business.
Support daily supplier performance management, ensuring negotiated terms, conditions and service levels are delivered in accordance with contracts. Resolve escalations and issues to avoid impact to operations and user satisfaction.
Prepare, review and approve RFx documents for on behalf of assigned business units. Lead initiatives and negotiations for business unit-specific categories and projects.
Responsible for timely and accurate reporting of key metrics.
Identify, design and execute process improvement initiatives to simplify procurement and cross-functional processes, drive efficiency and increase user satisfaction.
What we look for? Position Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Minimum of six years of experience in planning, project management, purchasing, or procurement; ideally in a manufacturing environment
Proficient in English
Driven, motivated and growth mindset oriented professional
Proficient in strategic sourcing process for indirect procurement; ideally leading or supporting operational and plant support categories like Logistics, Temporary Labor, MRO, and Facilities
Good PC / software knowledge/skills; proficient in Excel
Experience in spend and cost analysis, strong analytical skills and business acumen
Proficiency in ERP/MRP and its impact on a multi-plant supply chain
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a regionally dispersed and matrix aligned team; holding themselves and others accountable
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, and potentially conflicting, priorities with stakeholder needs
High level negotiation skills
