Supply Chain Intern

 

Position Description: This Supply Chain Internship offers students the opportunity to apply coursework in supply chain, operations, or business within a real-world manufacturing environment. Working closely with Axis’ Buyers and Shipping/Receiving Clerk, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting day-to-day supply chain activities that ensure timely delivery of materials and information to active projects.

 

This internship is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, process-driven, and excited to gain foundational experience that can support a future career in supply chain or operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

ERP & Purchase Order Support

• Update the ERP system with supplier confirmations.
• Compare supplier promise dates to required dates and flag mismatches.
• Verify that confirmed pricing and terms match purchase order details.
• Communicate discrepancies to Buyers and project teams.

Supplier Follow-Up & Order Tracking

• Monitor outstanding purchase orders.
• Help expedite orders based on project needs.
• Contact suppliers to obtain status updates on past due materials and communicate changes to internal teams.

Cross-Functional Operational Support

• Assist in gathering and organizing data for supply chain reports.
• Help compile PO reports by project prior to build start dates.
• Collaborate with shipping and receiving to understand and support inbound material flow.
• Help coordinate Return Material Authorizations (RMAs).

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel
• Experience with or exposure to an ERP system is a plus, but not required
• Currently pursuing (or recently completed) coursework in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Management or a related field

Compensation: $16.00 per hour
