Job Description

ACCIONA is now looking for a Tunnels Project Engineer - Mechanical to join the Alkimos Desalinisation Project in Perth. Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer you will manage the maintenance activities for the tunnelling and associated equipment.

The Project
The Alkimos SeaWater Alliance project will deliver WA's next major water source - A new seawater desalination plant at Alkimos.

At completion of stage 1 the plant will supply up to 50 billion litres of clean, safe drinking water to millions of Western Australians each year.

The project includes the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the plant with first production in 2028. Works include marine works and tunnels, seawater intake system, a seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, groundwater system, drinking water storage and pump system, supported by civil, electrical and bulk earthworks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance activities for tunnelling and associated equipment
  • Assist and plan maintenance works with Mechanical and Maintenance supervisors
  • Quality Assurance across tunnelling works.
  • Ensures effective communication and coordination between all disciplines and all other project participants

Required Skills and Competencies

  • A degree in Engineering, Civil or Mining
  • Previous experience in the maintenance of tunnelling activites and equipment specifically with Slurry TBM’s.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge and the on-site management of maintenance works and scheduling with maintenance crews.
