What You Will Do:

  • Review data from the lab and examine the data for accuracy.

  • Build/revise scripts and coding and perform statistical and other analysis under the supervision of the Laboratory of Applied Precision Omics staff.

  • Prepare data and/or results for presentation and/or publication in collaboration with investigators.

  • Maintain comprehensive records in accordance with lab standard operating procedures including, but not limited to, data, scripts, and documents.

  • Work with investigator(s) to turn general research objectives into well-defined scientific and testable statistical hypotheses. Determine whether the available data or the data to be collected will allow the hypotheses to be tested.

  • Evaluate methodologies used and ensure results are valid and reliable.

  • Participate in regularly scheduled branch meetings; discuss data and/or results.

What You Will Need:

  • Requires a University Degree and minimum (FOUR) 4-6 years of prior relevant experience; some roles may require graduate-level education Master’s or Doctorate degree (Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degree)

  • Initiates, formulates, plans and executes analytic research projects. 

  • Prepare comprehensive reports of study results Identifies methodologies, measures, and research questions for assessment and summarization of findings. 

  • Selects appropriate statistical and epidemiologic techniques and databases. 

  • Assists in developing and managing databases for analysis. Maintains quality control programs. Ensures reliability and consistency of the data.

  • Directs/coordinate others who carry out smaller components of data analysis. Provide technical assistance on the use of complex statistical and epidemiologic techniques. 

  • Serves as technical expert in all phases of statistical interpretation.

  • Disseminate results of research projects in a wide range of venues including publications, peer reviewed journals, summaries, manuscripts, and special reports

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Master’s degree, Ph.D., or Ph.D. Candidate in the area of statistics, computation, computer sciences or similar areas.

The annual salary range for this position is $100,200.00-$150,200.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
