Job Summary

We are seeking an Escrow Officer to join our team in Knoxville, TN.  The Escrow Officer/Closer is responsible for pre-closing, coordinating with agents & lenders, preparing settlement statements, scheduling and conducting the closing, preparation and recording of documents. This role oversees support staff within the escrow function applicable by office. 

Responsibilities

  • Review and clear title; identify underwriting concerns; prepare the settlement statements if applicable.

  • Must adhere to company production goals.

  • Prepare settlement statement and closing packages (if applicable).

  • Maintains knowledge and seeks out industry developments that affect title insurance transactions.

  • Responsible for understanding all parts of the escrow process to ensure that orders are opened with the end result in mind.

  • Coordinate communication with the realtors, lender, attorneys, buyers, sellers, members, etc., to prepare for settlement.

  • Prepare a Closing Disclosure (CD) and/or Settlement Statement that is compliant with a purchase contract, a lender, and federal/state requirements.

  • Perform closing functions in accordance with company and state standards.

  • Continue to call and network to create business relationships that maintain and increase the profitability of the office.

  • Responsible for delivering high-level customer service and business relationships. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated effective customer service experience to a diverse audience to enhance service delivery.

  • Carries out duties in compliance with all federal and state regulations and guidelines

  • Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.

  • Remains current in profession and industry trends.

  • Familiar with title and escrow regulations in the state where employed.

  • Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining speed of work and attention to detail without loss to production.

  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.

Education and Experience

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years escrow officer/closing experience performing the title and escrow duties of this position.

  • Title license or ability to obtain within 90 days.

  • Notary or ability to obtain within 30 days.

  • Must have high school diploma or GED

  • Knowledge of title industry software, Softpro Select preferred.
