Position Summary

The Senior Manager of Pharmacy Reimbursement Strategy and Analytics is a key role in the Payer Relations FP&A organization. With the constantly evolving Pharmacy Reimbursement landscape, and the launch of the CVS CostVantage model, there is a vital need for comprehensive and real-time analytics. The Senior Manager will partner closely with the Director of Pharmacy Strategy and Analytics to provide these key insights and develop pricing recommendations for senior leadership.

The Senior Manager can expect to develop and utilize strong analytical skills to quantify the value of contract opportunities, benchmark performance, and collaborate with the Payer Relations team to inform negotiations. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for leading regular reporting on business performance and developing process improvements to move toward more accurate modeling and efficient sharing of insights.

This role will develop strong relationships across the retail organization to provide subject matter expertise and ad hoc analytics to cross-functional business partners including broader finance organization, product development, operations, supply chain, and real estate.

Key responsibilities include:

Contract analytics & modeling:

  • Develop complex deal models and underwriting in collaboration with Payer Relations team to support Pharmacy Reimbursement contracting negotiations for >100 payers and Pharmacy Benefits Managers; including, assisting in implementation of the next-generation CostVantage pro forma model. Apply strong analytical skills and business acumen to benchmark deal projections and analyze performance over time. Communicate recommendations, summaries, and nuances of analysis to senior leadership.

Develop subject matter expertise & conduct ad hoc analytics:

  •  Support broader finance, product development, operations, and supply chain organizations with payer finance knowledge and ad hoc analytical insight and recommendations. Assess the financial impact of proposals from across the Retail organization.

Required Qualifications

  • 7-10 years work experience in health care, finance, business analytics or related quantitative problem solving
  • 2-3 years’ experience in data querying
  • Strong analytical skillset and approach to problem solving
  • Experience identifying potential risks and subsequent mitigation strategies when developing recommendations
  • Strong communication skills and ability to drive recommendations to leadership through impactful, insightful analytical-based presentations
  • Ability to become trusted advisor to cross-functional business partners
  • Ability to focus on long-term, strategic goals while executing against short-term objectives
  • Ability to be onsite in Woonsocket, RI for major needs/hybrid 3 days a week

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Strong financial analysis background
    • 5-8 years in healthcare
    • 1- 2 years SQL experience
    • Experience leading discussions with leadership
    • 3-5 years of financial modelling experience

    Education

    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

    Pay Range

    The typical pay range for this role is:

    $82,940.00 - $182,549.40


    This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
