Product Manager

Digital Assets

Location: London

Reporting to: Head of Product, Digital Assets

About the Role

Thunes is looking for an experienced Product Manager to join the Digital Assets team and drive the hands-on execution of our stablecoin payment infrastructure. This is a delivery-focused role, sitting at the intersection of blockchain technology, cross-border payments, and regulatory compliance.

You will work closely with engineering squads to build and integrate the foundational infrastructure that powers Thunes' digital asset capabilities spanning wallet custody, transaction screening, Travel Rule compliance, and stablecoin settlement rails across global corridors.

What We Are Looking For

  • A hands-on product executor with deep experience in digital asset infrastructure — someone who has shipped integrations, not just designed them.
  • Comfort operating at the boundary of Web3 and traditional finance (TradFi), translating between blockchain protocols and real-world payments workflows.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple technical workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong collaboration instincts — you will work daily with engineering, compliance, legal, and operations teams

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Integration & Engineering Collaboration

  • Lead end-to-end integration of wallet infrastructure for secure custody and treasury management (e.g. MPC wallet providers such as Fireblocks).
  • Integrate crypto transaction screening solutions to enforce AML/CTF controls and on-chain compliance (e.g. Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic).
  • Implement Travel Rule compliance workflows, including integration with protocol providers such as Notabene or Sygna.
  • Work closely with engineering squads to integrate digital asset infrastructure with Thunes' core payment platform.
  • Translate complex technical requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and definition-of-done for engineering teams.
  • Manage third-party vendor relationships throughout the integration lifecycle, from scoping and technical due diligence through to production go-live.

Roadmap Execution & Delivery

  • Execute delivery against Thunes' digital asset product roadmap across payments, settlement, and treasury use cases.
  • Manage backlog prioritisation across integration workstreams, balancing technical complexity, regulatory requirements, and corridor go-live timelines.
  • Identify and surface integration blockers early, coordinating across engineering, legal, and compliance to resolve them.
  • Support evaluation of new infrastructure providers and technology partners (custodians, wallet providers, on-chain analytics vendors) as directed.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure all product delivery adheres to applicable regulatory frameworks.

Performance, Risk & Compliance Management

  • Define and track KPIs for digital asset integrations — including integration uptime, settlement latency, transaction screening false positive rates, and corridor go-live milestones.
  • Develop and maintain risk management approaches to address digital asset-specific challenges such as liquidity fragmentation, on-chain fee volatility, and counterparty risk.
  • Oversee on-chain monitoring workflows to ensure network integrity and AML/CTF compliance.

Ecosystem Engagement & Internal Education

  • Act as a subject matter expert on digital asset infrastructure within Thunes, providing education and guidance to internal teams including Sales, Treasury, and Operations.
  • Monitor developments in the digital asset ecosystem — technology advances, regulatory changes, and market trends — and surface relevant insights to the team.
  • Support commercial teams with technical input on corridor prioritisation and partner suitability as needed.

Professional Experience & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2–3 years in a hands-on digital asset infrastructure role (not limited to advisory or strategy functions).
  • Demonstrable experience managing end-to-end vendor integrations with infrastructure providers — wallet custody, transaction screening, Travel Rule, or equivalent.
  • Deep understanding of blockchain technology, cryptography, and MPC wallet architecture
  • Familiarity with crypto-specific regulatory frameworks, including MiCA, Travel Rule (FATF Recommendation 16), and VASP licensing requirements.
  • Experience working in agile engineering environments, writing user stories and acceptance criteria directly with development squads.
  • Proven track record in cross-border payments, fintech, or a regulated financial services environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to prioritisation and delivery decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capability — able to work across engineering, legal, compliance, and commercial functions.
