A day in the life.

As a Legal and Compliance Coordinator you will play a vital role in supporting the regional Legal and Compliance Department with legal and contractual matters. They collaborate with regional leaders and MMA’s national legal team to provide advice and proactive support to colleagues within the region and ensure adherence to policies and state and federal regulations. You will also drive continuous improvement to the overarching Legal and Compliance Department and serve as a subject matter expert on national and regional policies, procedures and best practices.

Our future colleague.

We’d love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:

  • Experience in contract management, paralegal work, or legal and compliance roles
  • Basic understanding of contract development, standards, and language
  • Familiarity with managing contract life cycle including review, negotiation, administration, and occasional drafting of various agreements (e.g., client service, non-disclosure, vendor) while ensuring compliance with MMA standards and regulatory requirements
  • Continuously stays up to date on legislative and regulatory changes and maintains clear internal documentation and procedures; collaborating with internal teams to ensure regional legal best practices align with national standards and to identify necessary communication updates for internal teams and clients
  • Demonstrated ability to model change management best practices, applying principles across projects and client interactions to engage cross-functional teams, assess stakeholder impact, and recommend strategies for successful adoption while using project planning and tracking tools to keep stakeholders informed of milestones and progress

These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Experience within the insurance brokerage industry

We know there are excellent candidates who might not check all these boxes. Don’t be shy. If you’re close, we’d be very interested in meeting you.

A Great Place to Work. A Great Place to Perk.

Recognized for workplace culture by the likes of Fortune Magazine, The Chicago Tribune and more, our colleagues enjoy an environment that fosters creativity as well as individual and organizational growth. A small sampling of the benefits our colleagues enjoy include:

Who You Are is Who We Are

MMA Midwest has created an award-winning culture largely due to meeting our colleagues where they are, celebrating their differences and building an inclusive environment. We challenge ourselves to create a workplace where our colleagues feel not only welcomed, but feel they belong; where we not only embrace diverse perspectives and opinions but seek them out; and where we ask not how a colleague fits our culture, but what they add to it.
