This Position reports to:
Head of Engineering
Your Role and Responsibilities
In this position, you will take technical responsibility for ensuring our Azipod® solutions meet the highest standards and comply with customer and class requirements. As a key member of our delivery projects, you will steer engineering activities from sales handover all the way to ship delivery. You will also lead the design verification process to secure the manufacturability and quality of our products. This role will be located in Vuosaari, Helsinki.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Scheduling of project engineering according to agreed milestones in customer contract
Follow-up and reporting of the project engineering progress
Coordinating engineering resource requirements for the management
Approving technical documentation
Leading and approving technical solutions and quality non-conformities
Ensuring interfaces with other ship systems
Communicating technical matters with customers and the classification society
Providing technical support during installation and commissioning
Qualifications for the Role
Experience in the marine industry is required. Electric power transmission, ship automation, and cooperation with classification societies are seen as advantages.
At least couple of years of experience in demanding mechanical or electrical engineering or technical project management
Self-management skills and willingness to take responsibility and ownership
Customer-oriented mindset with a sense of urgency and a strong focus on quality, safe work practices and dedication to following health and safety guidelines
Curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies and ambition for continuous improvement
A collaborative, solution-oriented approach with good written and spoken communication skills in English. Finnish is considered as advantage.
B.Sc. or M.Sc degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
Basic knowledge of ERP (e.g. SAP), PLM (Teamcenter) and common office software are seen as advantage
Willingness to travel occasionally
