Credit & Collections Analyst

Description -

Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall team metrics and performance.

  • Mentor and coach team to effectively resolve aged issues and complete research on closed items to provide explanations for decision taking and internal partners and/or customers

  • Ensure team is effectively communicating with internal and external partners

  • Subject matter expert and frontline contact for manager on team related issues

  • Makes sure that the team is using the appropriate collections systems and processes at the expected level and provides guidance and coaching to team members on how to utilize collection systems to their full potential

  • Has regular discussions and builds solid relationships and networking with Internal Partners (Sales, Order management, BU Finance, Controllership, Credit, Legal, Default and Recovery, Tax, PMO) or External Partners.

  • Conduct regular account reviews with team members to address problematic situations that may lead to undesirable results

  • Lead escalation reviews and meetings with collectors – internal / external partners

  • Second Level Escalation for collector issues as required

  • Acts as Operational back-up of the manager

  • May develop team motivation and cohesion by proposing and coordinating team activities

Education and Experience Required:

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • 2+ years of work experience, preferably in collection, credit, banking, or a related field

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Strong leadership, analytical and influence skills.

  • Solid problem solving skills.

  • Developed prioritization skills.

  • Advanced understanding of collection processes, financial principles and channel partners.

  • Advanced understanding of HP's dispute management process.

  • Strong understanding of collection processes and financial concepts.

  • Strong understanding of customer's internal payment processes

The base pay range for this role is $69,600 to $107,150 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only).  Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
