About This Opportunity 

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative Senior Student Experience Officer to lead the planning and delivery of initiatives within the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology (EAIT) that enhance the student experience and encourage engagement beyond the classroom.

Working with academic and professional staff, you will develop activities and opportunities that support students’ personal, professional, and social development, helping to create a vibrant and connected faculty community.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Plan and implement student engagement events tailored to the needs of identified cohorts.

  • Implement processes that encourage broad student participation in faculty engagement events and initiatives.

  • Oversee the planning and delivery of orientation activities for commencing students.

  • Write, edit, and distribute event promotion and communications for commencing and current students.

  • Monitor and report on student experience events initiatives and participate in relevant committees and other duties as directed by the Manager, Student Experience.

  • Provide direction and support to casual student experience assistants.

About You  

  • Completion of a relevant undergraduate degree with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

  • Proven experience organising and delivering large-scale events.

  • Proven analytical, planning, organisational and project management skills.

  • Proven high level written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to compile information and write reports for a variety of audiences.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to communicate and network with a wide range of internal stakeholders, to develop and support relationships and work effectively with a diverse range of project stakeholders.

  • High level of computer literacy, including ability to extract and manipulate data using multiple databases and software packages.

  • Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team to achieve identified goals.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and meet competing deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative with limited supervision.
