In the Retail Banking Services (RBS) Lending Product Centre of Excellence (CoE), we are always looking for driven and talented individuals to support our Home Buying (HB) and Consumer Finance (CF) businesses.

As a third-party risk manager for our Lending Products (HB and CF), you will be a confident risk advisor, providing risk advice and guidance across the supplier and non-supplier third party lifecycle to ensure that our businesses can safely and confidently engage with third parties to achieve their strategic goals.  You will work closely with stakeholders across RBS and the Group and help our businesses make informed risk-reward decisions that deliver better customer outcomes.

Your Impact:

In this new role you will be energetic, adaptable and resilient, with an execution/delivery mindset.

You will support the Lending Product businesses and CoE as a point of contact for Third Party risk management providing timely and quality risk advice to contribute the delivery of HB and CF and strategic objectives that involve third parties across the supplier lifecycle from procurement to onboarding and ongoing governance.

On any given day, you will:

  • Deliver ongoing pragmatic governance and oversight to ensure that our businesses can leverage third party services safely, confidently and swiftly.
  • Ensure existing and new third parties are managed in line with the Third-Party Governance policies, standards and frameworks.
  • Provide actionable insights in key third party risk focus areas such as fourth party, modern slavery, concentration risk and business continuity.
  • Ensure risk assessments for existing third parties are maintained and refreshed on a regular basis in line with the Third-Party Supplier Governance Framework.
  • Assess and provide guidance over the outcomes of supplier control assurance activities
  • Conduct quality assurance supplier site visits as required to evidence supplier controls adherence.
  • Assess and make recommendations in relation to the identification, management and resolution of issues and incidents relating to suppliers.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of risk capabilities within the team and across the Domain.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Experience working in the Third Party Risk domain or with a strong focus on working with suppliers/third parties.
  • Understanding of operational and compliance risk management practices.
  • Strong reasoning and influencing skills to work across a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Well developed written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Experience in performing reviews of critical processes to identify what can go wrong, control gaps/weaknesses and/or optimisation opportunities is desirable.
  • Ability to analyse trends, identify critical threats and opportunities, diagnose problems and issues, and recommend appropriate actions.
