Job Description

Incumbent has an advanced understanding of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business. Job scope and complexity of assigned business is broad and very complex. This role has an advanced understanding of the business line’s operations, products/services, systems and associated risks/controls. They may lead reporting, testing/monitoring, exception/resolution activities and providing guidance. They are responsible for training lower level and new staff. They typically interact directly with department managers requiring an advanced level of presentation and relationship building skills. This position will also have occasional exposure to regulatory agencies. Incumbent has a bachelor’s degree, applicable professional certifications and five to seven years applicable experience.

Detailed Job Description

U.S. Bank is looking for a successful Senior Data Governance Analyst to support Enterprise Data Governance Program initiatives within the Risk Management and Compliance division of U.S. Bank.

Data governance ensures we have high quality information for making management decisions, enabling corporate strategies, and meeting regulatory expectations. We are looking for people who are passionate about data and who want to make a difference by ensuring high quality data is delivered. 

This role will collaborate with application and report owners to deconstruct the bank’s highest risk Key Reports, including mapping key business elements to critical data elements, collecting associated metadata and applying data quality validation rules to ensure data integrity. The ideal candidate will have experience with data quality measurements, performing analytics and identifying/reporting data defects. 

Additionally, they will be responsible for generating reports and presenting on program status, trends, issues/concerns and supporting overall Business Line Data Governance strategy.  

Responsibilities

  • Supports compliance of the Enterprise Data Governance Policy, including maintaining and creating business line procedures and instructions
  • Supports all business line data governance initiatives, ensuring strong controls are in place to deliver data that is fit for purpose within the business line or for assigned system of record, provisioning point or business process(s)
  • Collaborates with IT and/or Enterprise Data Governance team on tool and process improvements

  • Performs analysis, produces reporting, and collaborates with business lines to help deliver clear guidance on policy requirements
  • Establishes strong relationship management skills while collaborating with business line stakeholders
  • Leads various data quality efforts to enable business line advanced capabilities
  • Facilitates discovery and understanding of business line reporting metrics for Risk Management and Compliance’s key reports, including entering attributes into a centralized repository, mapping to enterprise key business elements and performing analysis on the quality of data
  • Supports oversight on Risk Management and Compliance data defects, ensuring accurate and timely remediation

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically more than six years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases and dashboards
  • Experience with deconstructing reporting metrics and catalog reporting attributes
  • Advanced analytics skills and ability to streamline reporting
  • Knowledge of RCSA Policy (Risk and Control Self-Assessment), assessing risk and ensuring mitigating controls are in place
  • Banking experience with a background in systems and process analysis
  • Understanding of BCBS 239 Principles for effective risk data aggregation and risk reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proven facilitation and conflict resolution skills
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
  • 5 or more years work experience in data management and/or Data Governance activities
  • Knowledge of US Bank Systems, and/or Risk Management reporting processes strongly preferred
  • Self-motivated, focused, detailed oriented and able to work efficiently to deadlines

**The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.**

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $102,340.00 - $120,400.00 - $132,440.00
