Water Recycling Risk Management Lead  

£46,000 circa dependant on skills and experience    

Permanent 

Full time -37 Hours a week    

Location: Based within the Anglian Water Region, covering areas such as Lincoln, Huntingdon, Milton Keynes, Norfolk and Essex

As our Risk Management Lead you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the effectiveness and awareness of our Water Recycling operational teams. Your responsibilities will involve travelling across the Anglian Water Region to develop and assure a suite of risk registers. This will include control measures, response plans and risk categorisation. You will also support reporting, process and continuous improvement initiatives across the Business Stream. While the role offers flexibility to work from home when appropriate, you must be prepared to cover the entire region.  

    

What will my role as Risk Management Lead involve?   

   

In this role you will be supporting our Performance Improvement Manager and Outcome Performance Manager as well as other senior leaders across the Business Stream to better understand opportunities to use data and insight to improve performance.  This will include using and interrogating performance data to give insight and drive value within our operational teams.  

You will bring a wealth of understanding in risk interpretation, development and management of risk registers as well as the ability to constructively challenge the effectiveness and appropriateness of control measures and key risk indicators. 

This is a key part of our role as Environmental Stewards and will be supporting our front-line teams with activities that will drive continuous improvement in all our environmental performance metrics, including pollutions, flooding, and compliance.   

    

Your key duties will include:    

  • Support our front-line teams in the identification of opportunities to drive operational performance using risk management and improvement methodologies.

  • Coaching our front-line teams in assessment, understand and management of their risks.

  • Use data, analysis, and insight to identify improvement opportunities.   

  • Support process improvement at the front line across all of Water Recycling including assurance that all improvement is implemented consistently, monitored, and sustained.

  • Collaborate with other teams across the business to help focus and embed change.

  • Work closely with the rest of the WR Performance Team to ensure consistency of delivery.  

  • Support our portfolio of Communities of Practice across Water Recycling. 

  • Manage our data and reports in an effective and value adding way. 

   

What does it take to be a Risk Management Lead? 

  • Understanding of risk management and improvement methodologies and techniques.  

  • Skills to interpret and provide insight from reporting and PowerBI and other Microsoft Power Platforms.  

  • Capability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business.  

  • Commercial awareness, including financial, knowledge, and judgement.  

  • Ability to challenge constructively and reach positive outcomes.  

  • Creative thinking and ability to question the norm.  

  • Aptitude to develop and present clear and reasoned strategic options.

  • Factual and data driven approach to decision making. 

  • Full UK driving licence.
