What You Will Achieve

This role will provide a broad range of support to the Legal Division and the Litigation teams.

How You Will Achieve It

Perform all tasks outlined in the Litigation Intake Protocol, which involves:

  • Ensuring that litigation and claims documents served on the company are appropriately reviewed, acknowledged, logged, described and routed to the assigned colleagues within the Litigation group or other legal practice areas or departments outside of legal, in a timely manner.
  • Interfacing with CT Corp (Pfizer’s registered agent) and Mail services in processing litigation and claims documents served on the Company.
  • Performing quality review of Service of Process (SOPs) or other documents to ensure that they are in proper order and communicate with CT Corp or other sources to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Collaborating with Pfizer’s Drug Safety Organization to comply with the regulatory reporting responsibilities of new adverse events.
  • Reviewing documents received to ascertain whether elements of an adverse event are present, conducting research to determine whether matters have already been received and reported to safety, and ensuring that all adverse events contained in new litigation and claim documents received by Litigation Intake are reported to the Drug Safety Surveillance organization.
  • Interfacing with outside counsel and internal Pfizer teams on inquiries related to service of process.
  • Ensuring that all new matters being handled by the Litigation Group are created in Teamconnect in a timely manner, and that such matters are updated with corresponding safety numbers as confirmation of AER.
  • Monitoring the Litigation Intake mailbox daily. Routing messages to the appropriate teams, responding to USMI inquiries, initiating research to identify or clarify information and exercising judgment in escalating to litigation manager for further action.
  • Assist in identifying, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with the Litigation Intake tool in partnership with Digital.
  • Preparing Litigation Intake reports summarizing quarterly and year-to-date activities and intake trends.

SPECIAL PROJECTS AND DEPARTMENT SUPPORT

  • Support team on tasks including calendaring, invoice and settlement processing, Teamconnect database updates, electronic and hardcopy file storage and retrieval.
  • Partner with Litigation Manager and Digital to explore and develop process improvement initiatives to enhance the group’s technology capabilities for the Litigation Intake tool. Identify ways to make it easier to get things done.
  • Deliver project management, operational and logistical support to the group on special projects such as offsite meetings, Town Halls, and other events.
  • Manage departmental Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and collaborate with the enterprise BCP leads.
  • Create and maintain information repository for litigation matters (i.e., experts, mediators) and engagement letters with individual counsel and other templates to facilitate information sharing. Perform data entry and searches as needed.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Applicant must have a HS Diploma (or Equivalent) and 8 years of relevant experience OR an associates degree with 6 years of experience OR a bachelors with at least 3 years of experience OR Masters with more than 1 year of experience
  • Exercises sound judgment and ability to work with autonomy under minimal supervision;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Superior attention to detail and time management;
  • Effectively and efficiently prioritizes and manages a dynamic workload;
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and solution-focused; ability to anticipate team member needs/requests and take appropriate action; eagerness to improve processes and make it easier to get things done;
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and to effectively interface with all levels of management and internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to quickly develop an in-depth understanding of Pfizer’s organizational structure, with ability to form productive working relationships with colleagues throughout Pfizer; Conducts all activities and makes decisions in accordance with Pfizer’s policies, SOPs and Pfizer Values
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required; experience with TeamConnect, Legal Document Management, Ariba, Collaborati, AP Invoice Processing System, and Legal Settlement Tool; ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and technologies

Nice-to-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum five years administrative or coordinator experience in the legal or Compliance fields or comparable area.
  • Familiarity with litigation
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry

The salary for this position ranges from $31.99 to $53.31 per hour. In addition, this position offers eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday and other pay premiums depending on the work schedule and the Company’s policies.
