Job Description:
We are seeking Mission Control Systems Operations Engineers to join our onsite service team at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt. This role is central to maintaining the ground segment infrastructure that monitors and controls Europe’s fleet of meteorological and environmental satellites.
You will ensure the seamless operation of Copernicus mission control systems, transitioning from daily routine management to the preparation and commissioning of next-generation missions. Working in a high-stakes, international environment, you will bridge the gap between complex software systems and real-time spacecraft operations, ensuring critical climate and weather data continues to reach the global community.
Perform routine Mission Control Operations services for the operational mission control systems
Support the evolution of mission control systems for all EUMETSAT Copernicus missions;
Provide Operations Preparation support of mission control systems, their off-line functions and test tools;
Deliver services, as part of the team, for the commissioning of mission control systems
On-call support and assistance with anomaly investigation
Preparation and maintenance of operational documentation;
Proven working experience in the operations of spacecraft mission control systems
Experience in Linux environments
Experience in VMware vSphere virtual machines
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python)
An advanced level of English is mandatory
