The Director of Technology will play a crucial role in architecting and crafting scalable software solutions, driving data excellence across the organization, and leading the modernization of desktop solutions to cloud technologies. This highly visible leader will collaborate with stakeholders and project managers to turn business goals into technical solutions while nurturing current commercial products.
About the Role
In this opportunity as Director of Technology, you will:
Lead a team of highly skilled AI/ML engineers and data scientists as a hands-on subject matter expert.
Establish the vision and direction of the team, working closely with business leaders and stakeholders.
Own end-to-end systems from infrastructure design to support scalability.
Define best AI/ML driven practices and AI lifecycle management.
Provide collaborative leadership to build AI models, own MLOps, and grow Data Engineering skills in the organization.
Coach and mentor the product engineering team in building scalable data and machine learning solutions.
Oversee model training and optimization.
Influence product roadmaps to accelerate growth while modernizing desktop solutions to cloud.
Own and drive designated engineering processes and participate in regular service management review meetings.
Lead performance management and reporting functions, ensuring all staff are aware of performance targets and achievements
About You
You're a fit for the role of Director of Technology if your background includes:
10+ years of experience working with complex datasets and AI/ML technologies.
5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing elegant machine learning models at internet scale.
3+ years experience leading AI/ML teams, with up-to-date knowledge of AI/ML technologies and trends.
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; Master's/PhD a plus.
Strong background in software engineering and full-stack SaaS product development.
Proven experience owning desktop solutions for modernization into web and cloud technologies.
Experience delivering scalable solutions on Azure Virtual Desktop.
Expertise with cutting-edge technologies such as transfer learning, unsupervised feature generation, meta-learning, generative text models, or reinforcement learning.
Proficiency in software engineering processes to implement solutions in production.
Experience with modern databases, cloud environments, and data ecosystems.
Demonstrated leadership in defining and leading large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders and tight timelines.
Proven success in building and maintaining high-performance teams.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Exceptional coding skills in relevant programming languages are critical.
